(348 reviews) This hotel was amazing, the rooms were fantastic, the breakfast buffet was delicious, but the staff were the best. I believe their names were Joan (there were 2 ladies named Joan) and Shem (I didn't get the spelling), they were the most helpful and nicest people ever at the breakfast buffet. I highly recommend this hotel. The only drawback, they really didn't want you swimming in the ocean - the first time they said it was after 5 and no lifeguard was on duty, the second time it was the middle of the day and they said no lifeguard on duty. There were several groups wanting in, finally they brought a lifeguard and we were able to get in water. They really need to fix that - just let it be swim at your own risk. Snorkeling didn't seem to be that great, clear water but not much to see. (75 reviews) This property has a certain charm, is very atmospheric with pretty gardens, but seems passed its prime. The room we were given smelled strongly of mold, the private pool was too gross to swim in, the small beach was not inviting and everything generally felt decrepit, dirty and in poor condition. After complaining and showing staff our issues with the room, we were eventually moved to another one which was much better. Our experience wasn't great but some may like it and staff was responsive. Seemed very over priced despite private pool. It's super convenient being within walking distance of Alona Beach, McDonald's, and Jollibee. The hotel staff are incredibly helpful and friendly whenever I need assistance, and the rooms are surprisingly spacious and beautifully decorated. I was delighted to find that they even provide hot water! It's definitely a great value for the money, and I'm already looking forward to returning to Bohol and staying here again.
