Very nice hotel. Close to the train station

We love 1Hotel. This was our fourth visit. However, this visit was different. From the loud music playing until two oclock in the morning, to the garbage left behind outside the entrance to the nightclub, the vibe was not at all what we experienced previously during our trips to Brooklyn. We sincerely hope the decision to use the upstairs floor as a nightclub is reconsidered. Being kept awake by loud music is not acceptable. Also, there was a bag of trash sitting on top of the trashcan for two days.Such a shame for this beautiful hotel. Attention to detail is what made this hotel so special.

The room was clean and modern. Staff was friendly and helpful.

Second time here. Disappointed that the only brunch options were a few things on the menu--we'd thought it was Mothers Day brunch --but the menu, overall, was solid, and intriguing. Good variety of choices for various levels of appetite and various tastes-pasta, meats, salads, fish, sides, sandwiches. Our meals were very very good! The 4 of us agreed the sticky rice appetizer was the best we'd ever had. Sushi was also very good- fresh and tasty. Filet was done perfectly. Honestly don't remember what else everyone had, but we all really enjoyed our food. Sides were also excellent. Asparagus was cooked properly-still green, a tiny bit of crunch. Truffle tater tots were one of my favorite things I've eaten in a long time, and I don't even love truffle. Mild flavor,& crispy. Delicious. Cocktails were well-done. Coffee was kind of gross---super-weak. The after-meal espresso, tho, was excellent -strong and frothy. We don't do dessert often, but we made a great choice ordering here. The chocolate gelato was honestly some of the best we'd ever eaten. The little donut dessert-served on a cute "Ferris wheel-" type server, was AMAZING. Love the view from inside as well, from almost every seat in the place. Bathrooms were clean and well-stocked, even through a very busy Mothers Day rush. Staff, from check-in to exit, was professional and friendly, and professional-looking.

Customer Service is outstanding

My stay at Sofitel New York was excellent overall. The hotel was very clean, well-maintained, and the staff was friendly and helpful throughout my stay. Guest services, in particular, were efficient, responsive, and made everything feel seamless from check-in through most of the trip. Unfortunately, my experience took a disappointing turn on the day of checkout. The hotel attempted to authorize and charge my credit card $500, claiming that my bachelorette party was playing loud music until 4 AM, disturbing other guests, and that security had come to our room after a warning call from the front desk. This was completely inaccurate. My group and I were not even in the room from approximately 12:30 AM to 4:00 AM. When we returned, we were winding down for bed—there was no music playing, and we were simply talking at a normal level. We never received any call to the room, nor did security come to our door at any point. It was extremely disheartening to have such a reputable hotel attempt to charge a significant fee based on claims that did not occur—especially without contacting us first to discuss any alleged issue. Experiences like this raise serious concerns, particularly as I’ve since seen similar reports online involving hotels in New York City. While the property and most of the staff were wonderful, this situation left a lasting negative impression and should be addressed with greater transparency and fairness.
