You will hear every footstep of the people above you, and the voices next door. This was OK for much of our stay but we were unlucky the first night, when people upstairs, including children, were walking and running almost continually until 1am, preventing sleep. But the other nights were not so bad. There is a lot of space, a good kitchen, and a bus stop to central Montreal right outside. And it is in an area with many nice cafes, restaurants, and tiny unique shops. (3,087 reviews) Check in was really good, Abby was great. Unfortunately there was freezing rain the following day, nearly fell in front of the Hotel. The entire sidewalk was ice. I spoke to a young man on the phone at the front desk, i asked him to put salt down, told him i nearly fell. His response was "the city of montreal is responsible for putting down salt"..i was stunned by his lack of empathy. Later in the evening i phoned the front desk asked to speak with their manager, Mathilde spoke with me. After telling her about my concerns for my safety she said she was sorry but that the city is responsible for salting the sidewalk, that the Hotel was not responsible for weather conditions. I told her that i simply wanted to know if the Hotel would be salting the sidewalk, so i could safely get into an uber the next day...she said yes. The next morning there was salt covering most,not all of the sidewalk. This was very disturbing to me. Honesty I thought being a guest that my safety would mean something. I have stayed at the Monville many many times. I do not think i will be going back. (107 reviews) Upon check in to our room, the bedsheets were full of hair and did not look like sheets were changed. The TV was not working, we couldn’t connect an apple or android device even though we spent an hour following instructions. Front desk was not helpful, they said they will be sending a tech guy to resolve the issue but a plumber was sent instead to do the job of a tech guy. Issue still not resolved.
