Dazhou Island Scuba Diving Vacations

This is a modern, upscale hotel. Google maps gets you close to the hotel, but I found that Google maps is not very accurate in China. The hotel lobby is on the 9th floor of the high rise building. The room had very modern amenities and a nice shower. There was an issue with the airport transfer which, according to Expedia, was included in the price of the room, but when I got to the hotel they said it wasn't included. The main reason I booked the hotel was for the airport transfer. I'm not sure who is at fault for this, could be inaccurate info on Expedia, or Expedia not communicating the airport transfer as part of the price to the hotel. The hotel manager did offer to provide an airport transfer after I showed my Expedia reservation confirmation, but it was very frustrating and my check in took much longer as a result (30 minutes to check in because of this issue). There's nothing worse than having to argue with the hotel over what's included in the booking, especially when it's in a country where they don't speak English - I really felt helpless in this situation. Makes me think twice about using Expedia to book a hotel. As with many hotels in China, there is no such thing as a non-smoking room, so be prepared to put up with cigarette smoke smell in the room. Other than that, it was a high class hotel room.

Super helpful staff. 5 overall room had some minor hits to carpet and curtains that diminished the feeling of a topnotch property. Can’t expect those to be changed out from minor damage but they are noticed. Quality of the build and materials in excellent. Soundproofing is superb so sleep was excellent. Great bed and bedding. Location convenient to excellent food and shopping.

Excellent hotel, very friendly and great breakfast with a wide variety of foods

It's a nice property. Close to many government offices and large companies. The rooms are clean and well-maintained. I liked the bathroom design. It was spacious and gave many options. The closet was also well-designed. I felt the luxury. The breakfast had plenty of options but mostly Chinese food and very few options for the international guests. The staff didn't speak much English or other languages. It was very hard for me to ask for my choices if they were even available. I liked the lobby. Plenty of seating areas and themes. If Hainan wants international businessmen to come, they better train their staff and redesign their menus.

I stayed at Sofitel Haikou for a business trip and was thoroughly impressed. The hotel offers a perfect blend of luxury and functionality, ideal for business travelers. The room was spacious, clean, and well-equipped with a comfortable work desk and high-speed Wi-Fi. The staff were courteous, professional, and attentive to every detail. The breakfast buffet had a great variety of both Western and local options, which was a great way to start the day. Meeting facilities were top-notch, and the location was convenient for accessing the business district. After work, I appreciated the relaxing atmosphere at the lounge and the stunning ocean views. Highly recommend Sofitel Haikou for business travelers looking for comfort, convenience, and excellent service.
