Mid-Atlantic Pet-friendly Vacations

We are long-term patrons of the Algonquin and our primary reason is the provision of exceptional customer service and care provided by everyone from Marissa at the front desk, Jimmy at the door and the entire staff at reception, front door, lounge, restaurant, housekeeping, engineering… Everyone provides kind, caring, knowledgeable, and professional customer care.

Hudson View Suite was really big, 2 rooms--lots of windows--nice bath--big tub and separate shower--everything was very large for NYC standards. Nicely appointed. DID NOT LIKE that the rooftop bar is operated by a separate company & we were denied access just to go up and get a drink even though the "special event" on the rooftop was over--if you are staying at a hotel, you should be able to go to the hotel bar. The daytime Bellman was the one of the nicest gentleman I have ever met--I would go back just to see him. :)

Had a tough time, room was not ready when we arrived for check-in, and due to recent storms they were apparently short-staffed. Not entirely their fault, but it def affected our stay.

Understaffed. Long lines to check in. Phones do not work in rooms and they do not pick up if you call from a cell phone. You have to wait in the check in line to request any service for your room. Flies everywhere. Rooms need a renovation observed mold on ceiling and coming through the caulking of the tubs
