Great delicious variety at breakfast

Good hotel. Walking distance to tram and railway. Area around hotel run down. Nothing wrong with the hotel but I would think one in a better area would of been good,

Clean, comfortable & convenient location

★★☆☆☆ Booked a Junior Suite (Corner) at Mondrian Bordeaux Les Carmes expecting a separated space, as the category name implies. What we got was one single room with no division at all — essentially a standard room with a suite price tag. This mattered to me specifically because I wake up very early to work, and I'd booked a suite so I could do that without disturbing my husband, who was still sleeping. Instead, when I raised the issue, I was offered two options: pay an extra €400 to move to a room with two separate spaces, or work from the restaurant at 5am — which turned out to have very dim lighting, making it impractical to actually get anything done. I was disappointed that the hotel didn't seem to take the mismatch seriously — selling a room under a "suite" name that doesn't match what's advertised, then asking guests to pay again to get what they'd already paid for, isn't reasonable. The location and design are lovely and staff were polite, but I'd think carefully before booking a "suite" category here without confirming exactly what's included.
