I couldn’t be happier with my stay at the Gates Hotel. The hotel was beautiful and was in a perfect location. Nishiki market was less than a 10 minute walk and there seemed to be a taxi right outside the hotel every time I needed one. The staff was very friendly and helped me set up my luggage transfer to my next hotel in Osaka. I would 1000 percent be staying here again the next time I’m in Kyoto.

The room we stayed in had a kitchenette, with a washer/dryer. And even had free rides to the nearby places that were cool

We had a wonderful stay during our Japan trip and truly appreciated. The location is excellent—set in a quiet area yet within walking distance of nearby landmarks, which made exploring very easy. It’s a great balance between convenience and relaxation. The staff were incredibly friendly and thoughtful, and there were no issues communicating in English. They even contacted us in advance to confirm our estimated arrival time, allowing us to drop off our luggage before check-in, which was very helpful. The room was very well maintained and beautifully designed. We especially loved how it blends traditional Japanese elements with modern style. The heated floor in bathroom and living area were a standout feature and made the stay exceptionally comfortable. Overall, a warm, comfortable, and thoughtfully run hotel—highly recommended for anyone visiting Japan.

Great staff great restaurants on location and very convenient location. Room TV was a little outdated but that’s a very minor nitpick.

Brand new clean modern property. Stunning views from the sky lobby. Amazing location with convenient direct access to the subway system and nearby shopping. I would come back again without hesitation :-)
