Salzkammergut Cheap Vacations

Thee was a little problem with our reservation, but reception staff handled it well.

Excellent and friendly service at the front desk upon arriving. Extremely well appointed room (loved the motion nightlights by the bathroom) and very comfortable bed. Lots of natural light with all the windows in the room. It was also very nice to have the restaurant within the hotel too! Wish I had known more about the history of the StieglBräu location and restaurant from 1912!

Too far from the historic center; hotel surroundings are a little sketchy. Definitely NOT a good choice if you prefer to walk to the tourist areas. Surprisingly, very limited food/restaurant choices nearby despite being so close to a major transit point.

The location of the hotel was great. The staff was very nice and helpful and the accoustics (no noise) was excellent. However, the breakfast was expensive (37 Euros), although they specify that they have air conditioning - it does not work since the entire hotel was switced to "winter mode" and it was too hot in the room, which was a big pain since we stayed there for 7 nights.

Our room was clean and had a nice firm bed. Bathroom was nicely decorated with black and marble. Wifi is weak in the room. Check in and check out was easy. We checked in with a friendly receptionist and then checked out with automat. This hotel is close to the railway station ( maybe 10 min walk or less) and there is also a Eurospar supermarket if you need groceries and a Muller store if you need cosmetics and toiletries. Plaza Inn is very conveniently located to the Mirabell Garden and you can easily walk to the old town along the river. Our standard room was facing the street so traffic was loud but quieted down after 10pm so we got pretty good night sleep.
