They charged my credit card twice for the room fee. We repeatedly asked them to refund the second charge and received no help at all. Actually no answer to our messages. We have filed a fraud case with our credit card company. Otherwise the property is good enough.

We were unable to complete our stay as planned and had to move to another hotel. We had booked a family room for 4 people - there was no air conditioning in the part of the building our room was located and the room was extremely hot with a small window and a fan circulating warm air. We asked to be moved and were advised that air conditioning is only available in executive rooms which are for 2 people and if we wanted to move there would be a cost of £250 for an additional room. Having already paid over the odds for a family room in the hotel we were not prepared to pay more. The hotel offered a bucket of ice (not sure what that was meant to achieve) and a second fan but this made no difference and just circulated more warm air. The hotel did finally agree to refund our stay even though the cancellation period has passed and we moved to a hotel a short drive away. We found the attitude of the hotel quite disappointing - they clearly know the lack of air conditioning is a problem as there are signs in reception offering fans, bottles of water and ice and advice to guests to keep curtains closed. They suggested the heat wave had caused the problem with room temperature but that ended weeks ago and it was 18 degrees the day we arrived so hardly a heat wave. This hotel has good potential but needs investment in air conditioning for family rooms as a minimum.

Loved the quiet location: close to Pearse station, with bus stops close by too. We used transit to get to all the sites. Check in was easy, front desk staff were helpful. Room was spacious and bed was great. There is a Tesco nearby, as well as several coffee shops. We did not eat at the hotel restaurant. The fridge was not cold when we arrived and were told by the front desk many of the in-room fridges did not work. We left the key card in while we were out for the day and our items got cold-ish. Bar staff did get ice, although the first day we asked ice buckets were scarce. Our last night we got great service with the bar hostess happily providing an ice bucket, ice, and wine glasses for our pack-and-drink before bed.

Great hotel. Great location. Very clean. Only thing I’d say is bad pillows in the rooms leading to bad sleep and a very small TV.

Our stay was wonderful Nico (im not sure how to spell it ) he was absolutely 110% personable, helpful and accommodating to our needs even gave us a short tour with so much history on St Helen's. He is a huge asset to the staff. I would recommend this beautiful place to everyone i know. The only thing that is missing is a hair dryer and wash clothes.Thank you for a wonderful stay.
