With a wonderful, in-town location only a mile from the ocean beach, this ground-floor condo in Wells will give you the Maine summer experience you've always had in mind. You'll spend your days swimming, collecting seashells, antiquing, and riding bikes, and come home to a simple, open living space, a complete kitchen where you can fix dinner each evening, and a small sitting area out front where you can sip wine and swap stories at golden hour. Back inside, the open living space features a comfortable sofa, an armchair, and a two-person dining table, all of them near a wall-mounted flatscreen TV . There is also a partial A/C unit to provide a more comfortable stay. The bedroom available features a ceiling fan and its own flatscreen TV for snuggly afternoons or nights at home. The full bathroom has a convenient tub/shower combo. There are two shared gas grills available to guests in the central area near the pool. This inviting condo community is located on Post Road (Route 1) in central Wells, surrounded by a number of restaurants, antique stores, and a Hannaford Supermarket down the road. Swimmers and sunbathers will have their choice of nearby beaches, including Wells Beach (one mile east across the Wells National Estuarine Research Reserve), Drakes Island Beach (three miles north), Ogunquit Beach (four miles south), and the beaches of Kennebunk and Kennebunkport (seven miles northeast). Antiquers and day-trippers will also find a haven here, with dozens of treasure-filled shops in Wells and scenic Route 1 waiting just outside the complex. Things to Know Parking for one car only. No exceptions. The Community Laundry Room is shared and the machines take credit cards. The pool is open Memorial Day through Labor Day, weather permitting. Please note that it is not heated. Parking notes: There is free parking available for 1 vehicle. This rental is located on floor 1. Damage waiver: The total cost of your reservation for this Property includes a nightly damage waiver fee, plus tax if applicable (the “Damage Waiver”). (A discount may be applied for stays of 28 nights or longer, if permitted.) My husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon, and absolutely loved our trip. The property was even better than the pictures and so clean and comfortable. The view from the porch was just amazing! This was a quiet community, it’s right on the main road but you wouldn’t know it. Everything was as described in the listing, and we were so pleased. The property manager was great and even reached out to us before we checked in to let us know there was an internet outing in the area just in case it wasn’t fixed by the time we got there. However , when we turned the bed down we immediately noticed grit / sand . After seeing that we pulled the covers down and found SEVERAL hairs of all shapes and sizes . It was nasty . We've been vacationing in Maine for many years now and have driven by the Belle of Maine hundreds of times and never even saw the place. It's like so many places along the shore that you never even notice it. Even going there we drove right past it the first time and had to turn around and go back. When we went into the unit we were pleasantly surprised. Everything was newly redone and it was done nicely. New floors, new kitchen and appliances, new bathroom, full size fridge, and everything you need to cook and eat with. It was nicely decorated and comfortable to hang out in. A large living room with tv and a separate bedroom with another tv. The only negative I can give is with the television situation, there is no cable tv, only Roku streaming sticks on each television. I did not have a problem with this as I own one of the original Roku devices and carry it with us whenever we go on trips so we always have a way to stream things in case of bad weather and being stuck inside. So I've been using one for many years and did not have any issues using the ones there. The only thing I wish is they had them in guest mode so I could log into my own Roku account and use that. While I did not have a problem with it I think a lot of people would not have any idea how to use a Roku device. So just be aware of that, you're on the shore and you're probably not watching tv unless it's raining. We would definitely stay in this unit again. ##### Vinny P. Aug 5, 2021 #### Amazing stay We were comfortable with 4 adults and a baby. This was the cleanest vacation rental we have ever stayed in so props to the housekeeper. It also was equipped with supplies that are typically forgotten about: cooking/kitchen supplies, hand soap, trash bags, sponge, etc. The property was well maintained and the view of the ocean was beautiful. It was also a convenient location.
