I requested an accessible room with a beach view. Checking in, I found 12 steps to go to the second floor. Not what I'd call accessible. I was changed to a room on the first floor. The only thing that made the room accessible, was a hand rail in the tub. The view was blocked by the stockade fence surrounding the pool. I spoke to the clerk on duty. I told him my concerns. I received a $59 refund for the change of room.I questioned the view. Was told that even seeing a sliver of the ocean was considered an "ocean view". Around 5 PM,we went into town to find a place to eat. Most of the places had signs up saying closed for the season. There were possibly 3-4 places open, with lines out the door. Mind you this was 2 days after Labor Day. We discussed our situation at length. We decided to ask for a refund and go home. I have never been so disappointed in my life. I inquired if a refund was possible. The clerk stated that he could not make the determination about even a partial refund, as he would have to call the owners, as they were not on the premises. We checked back, and he had reached the owners. I was told that even a partial refund was not allowed. The reason given was "the length of time they had to hold the room". The sign outside the hotel stated "Vacancy". At this point, we just decided to go home. After multiple surgeries, six years, and planning a get away for myself and my husband, I was so discouraged we decided to just go home.
