"This hotel is very well situated, the parking is a bonus and the views from the restaurant are stunning. The food was well cooked and the waiting staff were very friendly and helpful. We appreciated the age of the building and the reason why there was no lift but we struggled somewhat to lug two suitcases up to the top floor as our room was in the converted attic. The view from the room was great and the room itself was spacious, it could have benefited from a fridge and some of the roller blinds were broken which caused issue with opening and closing them. The room was noisy at night as the people next door were up a lot using the bathroom, every time they turned on the light the extractor fan would start up and we could hear it quite loudly in our room. Other than that all was fine. If you are staying in Beccles we would recommend the Waveney, great location and on the whole good."

"Parking could be better at this hotel there is a very small car park at the back and then parking along the seafront which can get very busy. We went in October and it was just a start of half term but I imagine in the summer it would be very busy and difficult to park the staff always very helpful and keen to please always friendly. Service was sometimes a bit slow that might have been because they were short on staff breakfast was quite slow on a couple of days we were there they forgot to bring certain items and we had to ask other members of staff to bring us things that we had ordered. The food was excellent. We ate in the restaurant for breakfast for three days and we ate in the restaurant for dinner for one evening and the food was 100%. The menu choice was very good. There was something for everybody. The food was presented perfectly. The Restaurant does get a very good review. There aren’t that many places to eat nearby but compared to where other places where we ate the seafood and Grill restaurant at this hotel did stand out above those the room was nice and functional everything was well stocked coffee and tea, plenty of everything available and restocked every day. The beds were comfy. The housekeeping were very efficient and cleaned the room very quickly once we left the room for breakfast the towels were replaced daily even without having to ask or leave them on the floor, the room was very hot and we did have to ask for a new fan to replace a faulty one"

"I stayed at the Wolf Inn's guest house which operated an entry system through a door code. This worked well and gave me 24/7 access to my room which was great. The room was a decent size for me but may be a little tight for two people if they have lots of luggage. I didn't see (or need to see) any staff during my stay but the room was turned daily in my absence. No breakfast facilities but available in the pub just across the road and other places nearby. There was also no on-site parking but free parking was available a couple of minutes away. I was sent a message by the hotel that clearly explained everything. The location next to Oulton Broad is lovely and there's a wonderful walk/run around the marshes less than a mile away."
