We researched extensively about accomodation in Hanoi as it was our first visit there and the one constant that we found was how highly the guests rated Royal Palace hotel. On the strength of those recommendations we decided to try it for ourselves and it turned out to be a wise move. We spent 7 nights at Royal Palace and from there we explored Halong Bay and Sapa. The manager, Mr Jimmi got us a great deal on both of these tours and organised everything for us. He also gave us the best exchange rate on the Vietnamese Dong! The staff were great and made us feel right at home. They were very helpful with advice on where to eat and shop and anything else that we needed during our stay. We look forward to staying there again next year.

Generally good, great rooftop pool & bar & views but our room on the 2nd floor had issues 1 after the other, fire alarm went off for no reason, ceiling fan stopped working, aircon stopped working, de humidifier also stopped- so room was damp & smelt damp. Staff however fixed each issue as it arose promptly but would have preferred a room swap higher up!
