« This was our first trip to the Black Hills, and the Little Elk Cottage was the perfect setting for our trip. The cottage is adorable, very private and within reasonable driving times to the area’s attractions. The cottage was well equipped and well furnished. « The house was very clean and well appointed. Stocked well with all the items you forget about (garbage bags, soap, condiments, laundry soap etc. etc. etc. ) The beds were comfortable. The views are stunning and we saw wild turkeys, deer and of course the koi pond was very peaceful. It was the perfect spot for us to relax and unwind after tours of Mt Rushmore and area attractions. Would absolutely return to this beautiful awesome home. »

« Loved this historic home— charming, spacious for our group of 7! Nice and close to downtown. Great homebase for our family wedding trip. Rapid City provided us a great home from which we explored the Badlands and Wall Drug, the Black Hills (Spearfish and Bridal Veil Falls), Mount Rushmore, Crazy Horse monument, and even Devils Tower in Wyoming. All this and a wedding within 5 days! Thanks for a great home to warm up in after the chilly spring winds. »

« Great little property for hotel alternative. Location is awesome. Walkable to downtown as well as lots of trails around the river that runs through town. Clean and quiet. Plus they let our dogs stay with us. A must for us. Thank you! »

« Very peaceful location. House was clean. Has large yard and would be great area to sit outside at night on a summer night. Hosts were attentive and prompt when we requested additional firewood for the wood burning stove. Had four fawns visit one evening. Spent all waking hours sight seeing and visiting attractions. If you have not experienced a self recycling toilet, you may be surprised. But I must say, due to the way the toilet vents there is absolutely no odor. The bed and toilet sit high, so...

« What an adorable property! We arrived late evening but check in was a breeze and I couldn’t stop carrying on about how cute this small space was. Great for singles or couples. A short walk to Black Hills State University where we watched our boys run track. My favorite thing about Spearfish has got to be the rec walking paths. « We had a fantastic time at this beautiful home. We had a group of 7 adults and 7 kids, we felt so comfortable in this cabin! The basement is so great for kids of all ages, there are great sleeping spaces for a group this size! This cabin has it all, some of us didn’t go explore the town as the cabin and beautiful scenery with falling snow was more than enough!! Would definitely recommend, and book again! »
