"The hotel is very close to the freeway and there is a good deal of traffic noise. The rooms are refurbished, but look like it was done “on a budget”. The gym is very small and does not have free weights"

"What i didn't like was the description of the room. Describe as a panoramic but felt it was a basic king room with an offset bathroom.. The described distance walk to the beach and the pier was more then 5 minutes more like 15 to the beach and 30 to the pier.."

"We absolutely loved our stay at The Garland! Such a charming hotel with a beautiful retro vibe and a cozy, relaxing atmosphere. The location was perfect for our Universal Studios getaway! It was the perfect place to unwind after a fun-filled day. Definitely one of our favorite stays in LA! Can’t wait to come back! ❤️"

"Great location. OK room, with very little decoration or highlights. Could use a carpet on the floor. Nice reception area but couldn't even watch the Dodgers playoff game either there or in the room, as they don't get the needed station(s). Not much to almost no security. Great coffee shop almost next door (Le Pain Quotidien)."

"Central Location worked well for us for the activities we were doing. Staff helpful and nice. A great brunch spot Hugo’s across the street. High traffic area near 101 as well does cause some traffic noise if you’re noise sensitive at night."
