The location is excellent, about a 5 minute walk to the Spanish Steps & a longer (but doable) walk to the Trevi Fountain, Pantheon & the Piazza Navona. Travelers beware: the hotel was built in 1914 & the facilities reflect the date. The elevator just about fits 2 people holding their breath. The room was spacious as was the bathroom (with a rainfall shower & a bidet) but everything was so shabby. The paint was chipped, the closet looked like it was falling apart & the safe & the mini-fridge were in the same locked cabinet (don’t ask why). There was a large screen TV but don’t expect to catch up on world news - no CNN, BBC or MSNBC. That may be a curse or blessing depending on your point of view. There is no dining room. We ate breakfast in the cafe of the hotel next door (an excellent buffet) & had espresso & a croissant in the tiny Sette Bello cafe across the street. We spent only 2 nights in the Residenza Antica in a generously sized bed but with the most uncomfortable heavy pillows. It is ideally situated. The hotel itself is quiet although on a busy street. We had a room at the back so can't comment if the noise was excessive at the front. The room was a good size and the bed was very comfortable - we had two excellent night's sleep! The décor could do with some updating in places but didn't detract from our stay. The vending machine was a bonus and the restaurant recommendations by Lorenzo and Luca were great! The signal kept going on and off almost every minute. In diesem Hotel haben wir das erste Mal übernachtet. Die Lage in der Via del Tritone ist sowohl für Sighseeing, als auch für Shoppingtouren ideal.
