This is a beautiful cottage within Reykjavík. You have BIG private garden with hot tub, barbecue grill, romantic fireplace and you are in Reykjaviks park area and it´s named Heiðmörk. Free WIFI- for e-mails and news.
Close by are the water reserves for the Reykjavík capital named Gvendarbrunnar,. This is Reykjavíks conservations area. Only 5 minutes drive you have one of the best heated swimmingpool in Reykjavík, you can see in one of the pictures. You are only 5 minutes drive to next super market. You are only 15 minutes drive to the center of Reykjavík. This is the perfect place to discover Reykjavík and drive for daytours in the country. Can´t get any better! This is new for rental and has never been rented out before!

The hot tub was nice, though we did not know how to warm it back up after not using it for a few days. The outdoor shower was interesting...but we got used to it. At least the water was hot! Overall, the location was beautiful, the cottage was cozy, and the New Years Eve firework display overlooking Reykjavik was unbelievable. Also, we were lucky enough to see some Northern Lights! Thank you for the opportunity to stay at your cottage.

We were extremely disappointed with the bathroom..... In the VRBO it doesn't have photos of the bathroom. Now we now why. It is so tiny you barely fit in. Outdoor shower is fine but what happens in the winter and maybe a shower curtain hanging from the door would be helpful. The sofa on the wall of the bedroom doors is way to big. It blocks the bedroom doors half way and you need to turn sideways to get in. Other than this its a great home and location.

This charming turf roofed rustic cottage is just 20 minutes from Reykjavik, but is situated in the midst of natural wonders such as a lake, a lava field full of red pseudo-craters, and an inactive volcano you can hike to. Just 10 minutes to the Bonus grocery store and less to a 24 hour gas station and convenience store.

Die Lage des Cottages ist wunderschön. Aber gemessen an anderen Angeboten auf Island stimmt Preis und Leistung hier überhaupt nicht. Besonders ärgerlich ist die Regelung zur Selbstreinigung. Diese Information bekommt man jedoch erst nach der Buchung. Angemerkt sei zudem, dass es dazu aber nicht einmal einen anständigen Staubsauger hat. Solche Regelungen gehören ganz klar in die Beschreibung auf der Plattform. Und wenn schin, dann stellt doch bitte anständiges Equipment zur Verfügung!Der zweite Punkt ist die Aussendusche, bei welcher das Wasser brühend heiss ist. Wenn es schon nur eine Einheitstemperatur gibt kann es doch nicht so schwer sein, diese auf 34 Grad einzustellen? Im WC hat es zwar einen Spiegel und einen Föhn, aber keine Steckdose. Oder sollte man den Boiler ausstecken, um die Haare zu trocknen?Die Einrichtungen sind alt und alles macht den Eindruck, dass hier noch mit möglichst wenig Aufwand möglicht viel Geld verdient wird. 70 m2 Fläche sind sehr optimistisch berechnet. Die Schlafzimmer sind so klein, dass die Betten nur von einer Seite zugänglich sind. Für das Gepäck hat es keinen Platz, die Koffer müssen im Wohnzimmer gelagert werden.Der angemessene Preis würde für eine solche Unterkunft ganz klar bei weniger als der Hälfte liegen. Dann könnte man auch über den einen oder anderen Punkt hinwegsehen. Aber so ist es nur dank der Lage nicht eine Unternull.

Great spot! It is a bit small but for the three of us it worked fine. The only downside is there is no where to leave baggage except in the living room. The hot tub was great. The setting was beautiful. The host was great at communicating. Although directions to the location seemed complicated, they were easy to follow and we got thereThe first try. The host responded in a very timely manner to all requests. The location was at least 15-20 minutes from downtown Reykjavík butItWorked out really well for us. We ate all breakfasts and suppers in. The kitchen worked well. Fridge was large so buying a few groceries was not a problem. There is a great stove, air fryer, toaster, microwave and enough cutlery and serving spoons for many more people than the cabin truly has space for. This would be a great spot for two couples or a family with 3 or fewer kids. I’d highly recommend!

Perfect Getaway

This was our first vacation in about 10 years and we enjoyed it so much! The locstuin was beautiful; quiet, pituresque, yet still close to all amenities. Loved having the option to have our own place away from home. Would definitely recommend!

Great spot outside the city

Location is great! 20 minutes into downtown Reykjavik and 3 minutes to the highway to serve as a base for traveling around. The location is quiet and rustic. The cottage is a bit older and needs a bit of upkeep (bedroom door doesn’t close). I agree with others who have said that paying a bit more to have a cleaner come out would be worth it. I loved the outdoor shower and hot tub. Great way to start and end the days of exploring. It’s a bit cramped if you were to have more than 2 people as there’s not a lot of space for gear or unpacking larger suitcases, but it was an ok size for just the two of us.

The view from the cabin over the pond toward the mountains is very nice. The hot tub was magnificent. The top is very heavy, opening it takes 2. Please note the outdoor shower is the only shower. Bathroom is small. Beds are comfy. Kitchen is well equipped. Very quiet relaxing stay. Walking trails nearby a bonus!
