This hotel was close to the Blue Lagoon and the airport. We were able to take the hotel's van right to the front walkway to the lagoon. We left the next morning after breakfast, which was very good, headed on the short drive to the airport. We are thinking about returning to Iceland in the future and will keep this hotel on the list.

This was a really great place to stay for our first night in Iceland. It's close to the airport and very close to the Blue Lagoon. The staff were friendly, the room was comfortable and had unique views over a lava field and the geothermal plant (lots of steam!), and the breakfast buffet was delicious. We also really enjoyed having access to the lounge, where we had a beer from the honesty bar and played some board games on comfy sofas.

Great hotel - room was large and comfortable, bed was the most comfortable of all of the 9 hotels we stayed at. Max’s was very good and the included breakfast was the normal selection, but very good.

The property is well maintained and the spa area is very nice and clean. The front desk staff is friendly and accommodating. And they made sure to alert us to the Northern Lights! My only negative experience was with the restaurant on site. The food was just ok--the soup came out cold--twice, the fish and chips were bland and tasteless and the staff was distracted and not attentive. Hopefully it was just an off night.
