Only issue was not a big one. My flight got in very early (before ataff was there) so was not sure if I could leave my bags in the office before check in (yes, you may!) Hotel was contacted immediately but they said it’s short notice and refuse to refund reservation. I showed up at hotel a day late and check into room. Got half undressed and lay on bed to rest. Suddenly a man open my door and walk in. I was terrified and asked him to leave as this is my room. He looked at me and walk in the room like he owns it, despite I’m being half dressed. I almost screamed. He walk around the room saying he works here and just checking the doors and amenities. I went to reception to complain and everyone ignore me. It turns out the man was their maintenance guy who works in the building. But that does not grant him any right to enter my room while I was inside and half dressed. He never apologize. He told me to go back to China (even though I am from the US and am a US citizen). He screamed at me saying this is their land, their property and their rule. If I don’t like it, I need to leave. Very clean. Convenient location. Great view of the church from the common room/kitchen. The only two negatives are that there is no staff at the office in the morning to talk to if you wanted to see if you could have an early checkin if the room is ready. The other is that it is slightly noisy. You can hear groups going in and out when they are in the hallway. Really convenient location in Reykjavik. Super close from Hallgrimskirkja (church). The room was clean and spacious. Every person had plenty of outlet, which was great for us with multiple devices that need nightly charging. The room got a lot of evening sun (June), so we needed to keep the window open to stay cool throughout the night. The shower rooms were conveniently located, and were available pretty much anytime we needed to use them. The kitchen had a fairly spacious dining area, but there's only one sink, so we needed to wait for our turn to do the dishes. Three fridges to keep our food refrigerated, but they were always pretty full (we found just enough space to put our food in). The code to enter the building was sent in a timely manner, so the check-in went very smoothly. Other guests were considerate, and we didn't have any issues with noises at night. But this time my experince was terrible. Lot of people..bathrooms were nasty, not really clean, rarely will find any stuff member. If you reprot to any issue they dont care. My phone charger and some small items went missing as housekeeping took them. The only issues I had with it was the elevator is the only access point but at one point the elevator broke/ needed maintenance so accessing the building was difficult.
