I booked a 3-night stay at W Hotels from 5.24.2024 to 5.27.2024. On 5.25.24, the hotel hosted a pool party run by a third-party vendor, open to paying outside guests and hotel guests at no charge. My guest and I occupied 2 pool chairs, and during my time there, I briefly napped on one. After waking up and eating, staff asked us to leave, citing my nap as the reason. I explained I was a hotel guest and requested to speak with a manager, but none arrived despite promises (I have 2 separate videos of different staff saying they were retrieving help/ management). Instead we were notified police were called, so we left the pool area and returned to our room. As we entered our room, Police officers came to our door and we were told to leave within 15 minutes or face trespassing charges. Hotel manager Stephanie Baxter offered to comp one night but denied further compensation, despite my video evidence supporting my account. I offered to send her the videos to eliminate hearsay but she refused. Shaun Baker was supposed to follow up but didn't. Malika Sidler promised to send pool rules but never did. I had to reach out to Nate Lopez several times before getting a hold of him. He stated we were asked to leave by Police because we were being defiant, however the Police asked us to leave as direct orders from the Hotel Ownership. We were left stranded and incurred additional cost for a new hotel. I am in process of seeking a full refund of $1,131.72 for this disappointing experience.
