This charming two-story home on quiet cul-de-sac was designed for your vacationing pleasure! With stunning views of Washington’s State Capitol Building, Capitol Lake, and Mt Rainier, incredible scenery with wild space and old-growth forest are right outside. Westfield Mall, and downtown life all less than a mile away. TheOverlook includes a master bedroom with queen bed encompassing the night-light of the Capitol dome. A north bedroom has bunk bed with twin upper, full lower, and a trundle twin underneath with the room easily sleeping five. Downstairs has a full queen bed also with commanding views and walk-out access to the lower deck. Fully supported, completely new kitchen and open dining primarily configured for large family gatherings. Two large living rooms, one upstairs and one downstairs seating eight easily. Entertainment provided with full subscription Hulu, Netflix, and AppleTV. Industrial sized washer and dryer downstairs near the lower level living space. The property is at the end of Foote Street with covered private parking for 2 vehicles. Gorgeous house decked out with everything you could need. The space is very family friendly. My girls (4, 1.5) loved the little hidden room beneath the stairs and the giant plush bean bag and the bunk beds. There were also toys, books, highchair and pack and play. There’s even a retractable baby gate on the stairs! The views are amazing. We loved hanging out on the deck and watching the birds. The hosts live next door and are extremely friendly and welcoming. The view was amazing and the home comfortable, inviting, and sparkling clean. The kitchen was stocked with every necessity. The linens were top quality and there was an abundance of towels and hangers (of which there are often too few in vacation rental homes). The owners had left plenty of wood for us to enjoy our evenings around the fireplace, and they treated us to wonderful chocolates and beverages. Chris and Ashlynn live next door and were welcoming and available for answering questions and providing assistance. All four of us can hardly wait to return to The Overlook! ##### Jean G. Foote Street is an adorable home in southwest Olympia which has been completely renovated by the owners, Chris and Ashlynn Strode. It sits on a hill with chamber of commerce views of the lake, State Capitol building and Mt. Ranier. The views are simply breathtaking. What you see in the owner photos is accurate. The renovations of this home include an open floorplan, huge island in the kitchen with lots of room for both cooks and observers, and finished with high end appliances. The kitchen is well stocked with all the cookware and dishes you will need. The comfortable adjacent living room includes an L shaped sofa, comfy leather chair, big tv with access to Hulu, Netflix, Apple TV, a working wood fireplace, and more large windows with THAT VIEW! There are upper and lower decks for good weather days, a gas grill (we used it), and outdoor dining furniture. The beds are comfortable - as are the pillows (the true test of a good home). This home is a little oasis. We didn't have a need to be downstairs much, but there is more room for larger groups and good spot for kids to have their own space. There are thoughtful touches that make it comfortable - for example, there are phone charges around the island and on the microwave, and really cool night lites that softly light up in the ceiling as it senses motion. Don't pack any extras as the house is well stocked with shampoo, conditioner, soap, hairdryers, dish detergent, trashbags, clothes detergent, and a washer and dryer downstairs. The owners deserve the highest of marks for their responsiveness to any question we had - big or small. We were lucky enough to catch them out in the yard one day and they are as friendly and nice in person as they were online in the rental process. We found that there were plenty of nights we just wanted to stay in because the house is so comfortable and relaxing. To that end, there is a great grocery/deli at the bottom of the hill with everything you will need. This home is a winner and I highly recommend it! ##### Rosie H. Once again our group of four women friends stayed at The Overlook and once again we were warmly welcomed by Chris and Ashlynn and had a perfect stay in their lovely home. The house has everything anyone could need for a comfortable stay, right down to a few treats in the fridge. We had wood for the fire, plenty of towels, a well-equipped kitchen, comfortable beds, an excellent conversation area, and an amazing view.
