It is surrounded by native vegetation and wildlife. While you are having breakfast, you can often see a family of deer grazing just outside the dining room. On our drive to town, we also came across a family of wild turkeys. There is a profound sense of calm and solitude. The rooms are comfortable, clean, and well maintained. There is a large deck just outside the room we stayed in, and at night we could see the stars. The hosts, Rebecca and Mike are very welcoming and made us feel at home. The guests were also very friendly. It was Thanksgiving holiday, and Rebeca gave us her signature sangria, which was the best I have ever tried, and I know how to make a good sangria. It is a great place to get away from the city, relax, and visit the nearby national parks. I highly recommend it." The location was far from town—which was the exact kind of experience we wanted. The cabin was cozy and the host graciously provided wood for the fireplace which kept us warm and added to the rustic ambiance. The view from the cabin of the La Sal mountains is epic and gazing out the window each morning was a pleasure. Stargazing at night couldn’t have been better and when the host says to check out the nearby castle valley overlook for the best view in the world he’s not exaggerating. The host was very easy to work with and provided great communication and went the extra mile to make it work for us. He recommended a 4 wheel drive vehicle which makes sense for that area anyway as a prime location for hiking, 4 wheeling and mountain biking.
