Truth be told, there are only about three places where you need to cross, but the trail itself follows the road rather closely for long stretches. At those points, you're never more than fifty feet from the road itself -- which can be a bit of an encumbrance when the dust is rolling high. For the most part, though, you'll be left alone to enjoy the vistas all by yourself.
