Travelling alone, I like small properties with a bar or restaurant so I don't need to go wandering around an area I don't know. The room was spacious and clean, and well equipped, in fact it was brilliantly equipped. The bar and restaurant downstairs were welcoming and pleasant. Met the owner while out walking and she recognised us and was very friendly gave us advice on our walk and looked forward to seeing us at lunchtime. Atmosphere was buzzing and the place had a real family vibe despite the eclectic mix of clientele. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was very nice and the bed was comfortable. We ate in the restaurant a couple of times, and the food was excellent. The only issue we had was that it was very hot during the time we were there. Apparently, the holding tank for the water supply to the shower was exposed to the direct sun. As a result, even using only cold water, the temperature of the shower was scalding, and we were not able to take showers until morning. I hope they find a solution to the issue. My early flight meant I needed to stay in London and be able to walk to the Underground. It's a 15 minute walk. Both of my wheeled suitcases had an easy roll for the most part. The room was up some narrow stairs but it was large and newly redone and had a clean bathroom and shower.
