It is a unique facility located in the beautiful Hampstead hills.There are beautiful walks in the hills and the nearby Hampstead Heath. A short walk to the Hampstead tube station. Lorenzo and his staff are hand on with great personal care and service.

This was one of the best places we’ve ever stayed at! All the hosts were so kind and made us feel welcome as soon as we arrived. The interior is beautiful, especially in the restaurant area. Unfortunately, they didn’t have staff for the restaurant during our stay, but there are so many great restaurants right nearby, and the complementary breakfast was fantastic. We’ll definitely be back again and would recommend!

In a great position near tube station in a nice area. Good price. Rooms fairly small and basic but clean and warm and had a great nights sleep. Staff friendly. Will return when down there again.

My room was absolutely tiny. Although this was just a work trip and somewhere to sleep, the room was uncomfortably small. Breakfast was included. Coffee was lovely and the staff couldn’t be more helpful.

We would highly recommend this family owned hotel. Given the difficulties these days with getting staff etc. they did their utmost to provide us with individual things that we needed. I loved the quaint restaurant and the small but well-fitted out bedroom; walk-in shower and bath tub available. 2 minutes walk to Hampstead Heath. 5 minutes to Hampstead Tube Station. The people at La Gaffe make it what it is. The owners and staff are friendly and helpful; other guests are interesting people.

Awful room

Awful place, I would not recommend this to anyone. Booked a double room, room was very small, dated, hot and stuffy. There was a window which opened into a hotel landing area with a glass room. Requested a change of room but was advised there were no rooms available therefore checked out immediately and found another hotel. I would not recommend this place.

I booked this property purely based on the reviews, I would not recommend this property to anybody it was dingy and dirty, I was appalled when I seen it and walked straight back out, I would expect this level of accommodation in a third world country

We had a room that was so tiny we could hardly open our cases or move around comfortably. The bathroom in our double room was so tiny you had to step outside to dry off! Coming in our room was a challenge as there was barely room to squeeze in. Extremely noisy at night even with ear plugs which were provided! The whole facility needs a huge makeover to bring it up to decent standards. The stairs up to the rooms are extremely dangerous and narrow. The staff however are very friendly and helpful.

Would not recommend

I don’t understand why there are so many good reviews, it’s very misleading. Location was good and shower pressure strong, but that’s about it. Bed was terribly uncomfortable. Pillows were old and gross and had other guests hair on them. Walls are so thin I could hear the man in the room next door snoring, coughing, flushing the toilet, etc.

Great Hotel, fantastic location

We really enjoyed our stay at La Gaffe. The hosts and staff were brilliant, friendly and helpfull. The breakfast was really nice and there was plenty of choice. The rooms were cleaned daily. The hotel is in a great location for Hampstead and a short walk to the tube and cafe's, shops pubs and restaurants. If we had any complaints we could say the room was warm and as we fronted onto a busy road it wasnt practical to sleep with the window open due to traffic noise. Im sensitive to noise, my wife didnt mind so its down to individual opinions. There is a ceiling fan which helps. If you are looking to stay here there are other rooms away from the road. But honesty this is a lovely friendly Hotel with good cleanliness good breakfast, great hosts and staff also a small bar. Also we thought it was good value given the location. We would go again. Hampstead is brilliant a great place to relax after any trips into London. A few celebrities wondering around also, so people watching is interesting
