Very convenient location right by the main Kyoto streets of shopping and food. Close to subway and bus stations. The property looked brand new to me. Everywhere was so clean and the staff were very friendly, efficient, and professional. The Onsen was such a unique element of the hotel. The rooftop terrace was open from sunrise to midnight to all hotel guests and it had a breathtaking view of Kyoto. There was mineral hot water bath on the rooftop and you could dip your toes in as you were sitting and enjoying the view. It was fabulous. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Kyoto. Only note for travellers if you care about the view of the hotel room's window. Our room was on the third floor and from the window we could only see the roofs of the other houses and if you looked down their backyards. We stayed for five nights. The room was small (especially with two large suitcases) but functional and very well kept. The bed was very comfortable. The rooftop bar is amazing with the views, and the saunas were so nice as well (especially the one with the view!) We had forwarded our luggage from Tokyo and it was already in our room when we arrived. The location is great and very central. Easy access to tons of food options, shopping, Gion, and transportation around and out of Kyoto.
