Room was incredibly clean and there were some thoughtful touches with the amenities. View from room is absolutely gorgeous and the location is perfect! Staff was very kind.
Highly recommend! Stayed in central Kyoto at first but it was too crowded so switched to this hotel. If you wanna explore Kyoto this is a little bit further from things, but the subway is near and incredibly easy to get around with. This area is stunning. Beautiful nature and hotel is right by it + the river!
Great location. A lot of tourists, but once the buses leave it is great to stay the night and enjoy the area. Beautiful view of the river and friendly staff.
We were only at the hotel for one night, but really enjoyed the stay. The view was wonderful, the staff was so kind and helpful, and the bed was like sleeping on a very supportive cloud. We only wish we could have stayed longer
They have traditional Japanese breakfast ; it’s great bec we’re Asian ; but if you don’t eat fish in the morning then it’s something to reconsider ..staff was excellent and we love the breakfast ..
Great place. Older but well kept hotel. Excellent staff and delicious japanese breakfast. Great location minutes walk from Togetsu-kyo bridge. Spacious room & plentiful amenities. Bathroom and toilet are small though.
One of the most beautiful views in Arashiyama. The staff was so pleasant and so welcoming. They went above and beyond. The river view in the dining area was breathtaking. I can’t wait to come back!!
Wanted a hotel near Arashiyama monkey park and bamboo grove for some hiking. The hotel is small but was clean and the room was very comfortable. The bed was soft and the air conditioning worked great. Room had a great view of the water. The staff, while they didn’t speak English, were very friendly and carried my suitcase upstairs and downstairs for me.
They’re putting in an elevator next year. I’d definitely stay again.
We absolutely loved our stay at this hotel! Our view of the river and the mountains was just stunning! The service was exceptional. Everyone was so kind.
They added breakfast was a really nice touch. We had never had a traditional Japanese breakfast before so we were unsure what to expect. The fish was delicious!
The room could use a few more garbage cans (maybe in the bathroom?) and hooks in the bathroom to hang your clothing and towels. Other than that, it was spectacular! I loved having my morning tea looking out the window.
Top tip: you must make reservations for dinner in advance. There are a few places that are open for the evening . We loved ‘Mama’ restaurant right down the street.
We will be back- I loved all the activities!
There are so many cute little touches to this hotel! In our room, there is a beautiful rice crackers package and a handmade folded crane for good luck! When at the front desk there was yummy mochi for guests to try! Oishii! So good! There is a dining area on the left you can sit and drink ice water and hot tea if you are staying at the hotel. The staff is so friendly! They carried our luggage to our room before we checked in at 2pm! We did drop our luggage at 11am and went adventuring! There is a microwave down the hall to warm up your food or reheat your left overs! With free chopsticks, forks, spoons, etc. cups for your drinks! Free tea and bottled water in your room and breath taking views of the river right from your bedroom window. Absolutely love it here! Walked to the public onsen around the corner to try! You can get a discount ticket from the hotel staff here for a discounted price! We love it! Thank you again! Can’t wait to visit again next year!
