« The reason I haven’t scored 5 is that Expedia sold us a room that had issues with noise / cooking smells as it’s above the kitchen and is noisey and smelly when the staff are cooking. We stayed in a room named Helvellyn and Expedia didn’t state any issues with any rooms. If we had booked direct with the queens head it details the room helvellyn as having issues with noise etc due to it’s proximity to the kitchen. « Nice exterior, with parking for residents. Rushed ‘check in’ at the bar meant I was charged in full despite already paying a deposit. Thanks to Iain for organising the refund. Hall and stairs to rooms looked unclean. Handrails were sticky to touch, repairs to walls were dreadful. Stair carpet needs cleaned. Room 10 was comfortable and was a good size. « Only small gripe was the shower head had a bit of black mould on it and one roller blind came away whilst I was closing it. Luckily my husband was able to clip it back in quickly. Room and bedding both clean, grounds beautiful and well maintained. Breakfast was fantastic, quality hot cooked breakfast and very pleasant staff. We would visit again, thank you. »

« The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Evening meal and breakfast were very good. The bed was extremely comfortable. The bathroom could do with some updating. Several significant cracks in the walls and evidence of water leaks around the heated towel rail and over bath shower head was leaking water out when running the bath taps. We only had one night so not really an issue for us. »

« Charmant petit hôtel de passage, les chambres sont assez confortables. Petit point à revoir sur la literie et la propreté de la salle de bain. Nous y avons dîné 2 fois et la nourriture était bonne. Bon rapport qualité / prix! »
