On the edge of the city, Lone Pine State Park features hiking trails and panoramic vistas of Flathead Valley. Follow the former Great Northern Railroad bed on foot or bike the Rails to Trails path from Kalispell to the northern end of Flathead Lake.

Kalispell hosts several annual events that introduce participants to the dynamic local culture. Arrive in May for obstacle course racing at the Montana Spartan Race. Equestrian activities are featured at the Event at Rebecca Farm in July. September brings the Montana Dragon Boat Festival. Watch the Montana Pond Hockey Classic in the winter.
