If you are planning a double, visiting Sequoia and Yosemite on the same trip, then this place is perfectly located in between. The Owners are super nice, keep the place in good shape. It is a motel, so don't expect breakfast in bed, but they have a few secrets to share, if you want to know where to get good food in Town.
All of the staff I had interactions with were polite and helpful. Check-in for a two night stay was easy and without issues.
Upon entering the room the first thing that hit me was a pungent smell. I couldn’t place what it was but it smelled a little like staleness and uncleanliness. As I looked around the room and bathroom it appeared to be somewhat newer paint and clean. The linens were also clean and did not have a smell to them.
I decided I would just run to the local store and grab a room deodorizer spray and Clorox wipes and see how that helped. I returned and wiped down all surfaces and sprayed the neutralizer spray around the room and left for an early dinner. Upon my return the room smelled much more fresh.
The hotel is a bit run down with the stairs to the second floor being questionable and not consistent in depth causing my 73 year old mother to trip twice walking up them.
The room was very basic. Two queen beds (a little too springy for me), small nightstand, small table with 2 chairs small refrigerator and microwave and TV. No other amenities like a hair dryer or coffee maker.
The shower is very tight but I’m also not a skinny guy. The heater worked great and the A/C was intermittent but ok for March. Not sure I would want to test it on a really hot day.
I return to Sanger once a year for a friend meet up and this is the first time I stayed at this hotel. I likely will not return as I prefer a little nicer hotel stay.
The owners of this property are in the works of remodeling all their rooms. We had the pleasure of staying in one of these newly remodeled rooms. Staff was very nice and helpful about options and amenities in the area. I would recommend this to travelers. It is in a perfect location for after yosemite to go to Kings Canyon and Sequoia
Had late arrival and were able to check in fast. Somebody knocked on our door at 4am and woke us all, but other than that the stay was good. Clean room, fridge, grocery store nearby.
