Conveniently located, at a walking distance from El Prado, shopping, dining and local markets. Excellent neighbourhood. The hotel is quiet and the staff very helpful. The room is pleasantly decorated and impeccable! Very safe place that would recommend to anyone including inexperienced travelers. Last but not least, very affordable for such a great neighbourhood!

The room was clean and quiet. The hotel is in a great location and the hotel staff is very friendly and accommodating. Also, the price of the room is very affordable.

Booked a deluxe double, unfortunately it was lacking anything which made it deluxe. The room felt like it was in the basement, the window overlooked a rather grotty space between buildings, almost no natural light in the room. The room itself was very small, with nowhere to store luggage and only a small wardrobe with four hangers. The bathroom door is glass, so if bathroom privacy is your thing you'll be in for a fright! But if don't mind seeing or been seen on the toilet, then all will be well (and everything can be heard through said glass door!). The room was clean, the bed comfy and the curtains did make the room dark. The bathroom was ok, with a decent shower. Walls not the most sound proofed... Breakfast was basic. Scrambled "eggs" and bacon the only hot food. Pastries, donuts, pancakes, meat, cheese, bread. All help yourself. The hotel location is excellent. Restaurants and bars right outside. Two minutes walk to the metro and Gran Via. Opera and Plaza Mayor less than 10 minutes walk. An OK hotel, but certainly not a 4* experience (more like 2 to 3). All the staff were fine, very courteous and helpful. One thing to beware (and this isn't a hotel issue), my taxi from the airport dropped me up on Gran Via - so a shortish walk to the hotel.

Probably the worst bed I have ever slept in — it was actually more comfortable to sleep on the floor. My whole family was surprised at how hard the beds were. Unfortunately, we also all suffered from food poisoning on the first day after eating at the restaurant and were very sick by the time we returned home. On a positive note, some of the staff were brilliant. They even sent me a piece of an amazing cheesecake for my birthday and were generally very helpful, although a couple of staff members had a poor attitude. Other than that, the hotel itself is beautiful. However, my last stay was nicer for some reason — the rooms were prettier, and the beds were better. When I asked, I was told that the beds had been changed since my last visit. The location is spectacular, and the lobby and small garden terrace are lovely. The tea and desserts are fantastic, but the main food could be better, especially for a Michelin guide restaurant.
