Imagine standing here nearly 2000 years ago, preparing to enter a stadium filled with 6000 spectators! Maybe you were parading after a successful military campaign, or perhaps you were here to fight for your life in gladiatorial combat. Either way, it was a big moment in your life!

Lovely spacious room. Friendly and efficient staff. City centre location. Bathroom had both a rainfall and a hand-held shower head. The only minor gripes were 1 - no fridge in the room 2 - the random selection of TV channels, which was a bit hit & miss.

We managed to get our luggage up in the lift then it broke down. My husband is nearly 70 I suffer from asthma. Every time I had to climb the stairs to the 2nd floor I had an asthma attack. Great motel. Reception staff were really lovely and the reception area was well stocked and tidy. Room was nice and clean, toiletries were excellent. 8.8/10 Excellent! (1,591 reviews)
Room was largely fine but could clearly hear other rooms showering which is really poor and not something I’ve ever experienced in a hotel before. “Restaurant” had no business calling itself that. Barely even warm food, reheated if anything and horribly expensive. Certainly wouldn’t rush back.
