"The Treehouse was perfect for the last part of our Belize holiday. Tito, the caretaker was on site when we arrived. He was extremely helpful & communication was prompt. We liked how it is centrally located, so we could enjoy the many activities in and around San Ignacio. Loved hearing all the sounds of the jungle in the mornings and cooling off in the pool late in the day. A rare find for a truly different lodging experience; we would recommend The Treehouse. "

"Had a great stay in the jungle! Playing cards on the porch with all the jungle sounds and the creek running by was such a great experience. Seeing howler monkeys on the property was also a highlight. The property manager Kate always made sure we had what we needed. About 10 minutes outside of downtown San Ignacio, so away from the crowds, but close enough to go in for dinner or whatever."

"The room was clean but very basic amenities. No AC but lots of fans. The manger set us up with a driver to Tikal for 120 US. I thought the price was average. Anna was an excellent cook and bartender and very friendly. The river looked inviting but we didn’t go in. The food was authentic Belizean. "

"Mahogany Hall is a bit off the beaten path but worth it. The river views, clean rooms, and exceptional service are worth the extra 10 minutes outside of town."

Ideal for just relaxing on patio or around pool, walking along the river and just a short drive to San Ignacio, Mayan Ruins, Iguana Conservation Project and tours to ATM Cave. The staff will exceed your expectations. They are friendly, knowledgeable, informative, courteous and thoughtful. If you’re looking for a very special place, Mahogany Hall is your place to stay. "Our family had a great time during our spring break. The house was clean, comfortable, and in a great location for our day trips to the ATM cave, Mayan ruins in Belize, and visiting Tikal. The host was great and met us on arrival and was there for check out. You should also consider arranging for the arrival dinner. It was really good and made for a relaxing first night.the gardens were beautiful, well maintained and the kids loved the pool."

"Julieta and Tony were personable, gracious hosts; the cabin was comfortable and well-equipped. I especially enjoyed the complimentary local coffee to be enjoyed sitting on the screened porch, high in the trees with bird song."

"We loved staying at this property. Comfortable beds, and the villa was immaculate. Our kids loved having the outdoor shower(s) and private pool. If other people were staying on the property, we didn't see them. We did not rent a 4wheel drive vehicle, which is highly recommended. The road leading to the villa was VERY steep. We were fine, but if it had rained during our stay we might have a different opinion on that choice!"

"Wonderful stay, amazing staff, hard to describe how great this place is. Not too fancy, but not completely roughing it. The ride in is on a rough road, no doubt, but once there you can spend all day exploring and enjoying the resort. The food absolutely didn't disappoint either."

"Wow! Is all that really can be said. The natural beauty of this hotel are what other places spend thousands of dollars trying to recreate. Located on the river banks with nothing else in sight, thoughtfully manicured grounds giving way to the Belizean jungle. You truly can feel away from it all. The hotel offers a lot to do on-site as well canoeing on the river, mini golf, a swimming pool, spa services, hikes around the property and a good restaurant with bar. And they can also set you up for a tour to any one attractions in the area. The staff goes out of their to meet the needs of their guests. We stayed in the Owner's Suite on the far end of all the bungalows with the jetted tub on the balcony style patio overlooking the river. Totally private with a wide open view of the river and nothing else but nature to look. Amazing, highly recommend."

Cohune Palms River Cabanas: Private river cabanas just 2.5 mi from San Ignacio

"This was the adventure we were hoping for! We visited with our teens (14 and 16). It is such a beautiful location and we really enjoyed seeing wildlife up close! We saw agouti, river otters, howler monkeys, bats, toucans, and several other beautiful birds during our stay. The rope swing and being able to get in the river was very nice. Mike and the ladies at Cohune are so nice! Mike is very knowledgeable about the area and is happy to share. The food was also amazing! Highly recommend breakfast and dinner at the kitchen. We were a little worried about staying with no AC, but the cabana cools down nicely at night. We had no issues with biting insects. The cabana was tidy, just keep in mind it's has a thatched roof and louvered windows so a little dust might come in. Completely worth the experience and highly recommend staying here! "

"It was great. The waterfalls on site are stunning. The views from the restaurant are amazing and the staff was great. They were always friendly and attentive. The only complaint is that it needs some sort of AC for during the day. Fans weren't enough to keep the room cool in the hot season. Other times of the year I'm sure it's perfect. I'd still highly recommend it."
