"Nothing worked: TV turns on but would not go to specific channel, tub drains slower than molasses in January, hair dryer doesn’t turn on, chair was broken, walls were so thin it’s like bad porn audio on autoplay late into the night. I’ve stayed in only one place worse than it. Just when I thought it couldn’t get any worse, breakfast was scheduled at 6:00-9:00 and we got to the dining to find the staff just realized the person didn’t show up to get the items prepared."

"We absolutely loved everything about our stay. The hotel was beautifully renovated keeping the charm and architectural uniqueness. The staff was friendly and helpful. We will definitely stay there again. The room was quiet and comfortable."

"This hotel experience was absolutely garbage. We checked in fairly fast but the issues started right as I walked in. Someone had a dog barking in a room (Not hotels fault but still annoying to hear any time we left our room. First room we were put in had not been cleaned finding hair and fluids on the beds and bathrooms. The hallway outside the room was covered in crumbs and had trash about. The hotel staff then moved us to another room the beds were at least clean in this one. But still needed to have the bathroom cleaned. The mini fridge was disgusting and we found cockroches and ants in the room. They also advertised a pool however apparently the pool wasn't open to guest or was closed for some reason but we were not informed until we tried to use them. They also offered a breakfast but apparently the staff didn't come in so the front door person put out some yogurt and that was about it. I would rate them lower if I could."

"I have never stayed in such a run down nasty hotel. It’s by the highway, and you hear it loud and clear. Never again. Traveled to Winterset after leaving Des Moines stayed a a hotel called Cobblestone it was beautiful, very clean, free breakfast, great service, bar. For a few dollars more than the hotel in DesMoines. I will stay there from now on, even though it’s an hour outside of DesMoines."

"Place was falling apart. The heating and air didnt work there was huge gap in door. The jaccuzi was closed but nothing was mentioned on there web page. The pool was supper cold. And the place smelled like pot."
