"Start off with the reception when we arrived, she wasn’t welcoming at all very rigid and unhelpful as she directed on two occasions to the wrong location (our room and the spa) The room was very dated and the bed was too small for two adults and the pillows very uncomfortable. As for the spa (we had booked a treatment) staff were also not welcoming, had to wait a long time to get seen . Could hear all noises from the outside during the treatment which wasn’t very pleasant. Staff in general are very cold and withdrawn. Something you don’t expect when you come for weekend night away. Will not be booking at the imperial again. "

"First of all, say that the hotel system gives you a room, it has nothing to do with the reception. The system awarded me a room that was not very prepared yet, it smelled a lot of paint and had no little soaps, but without any problem I told Paul and he assigned me in another room much better with everything I needed. He was very friendly at all times with me, helpful apologized and gave incredible attention. No noise to sleep, the bed was a little soft on the mattress, but I was able to rest well, they go every day to check you out and clean the room and ask you if you need anything. and check out at 11:00 pm."

"A funky young hotel with everything you want for one or two nights. Bed was very comfy indeed and very clean. There was a whiff of drains in the bathroom and the shower had a slow drain. Plus only a coffee machine and no kettle meant no tea in the morning. For a city centre hotel it was very good. Breakfast was good albeit selection of hot options was limited."

"This is a hotel in a perfect location. It is so beautiful to look into the bay and so wonderful to be able to go on the most incredible coastal walks from the doorstep. Great to take the boat to Salcombe and explore from there. The room was lovely, but we were on the ground floor and looked out onto the bay, but also the decked area; so it wasn't very private. The"
