Situated in a beautiful location.Friendly and welcoming staff.Room lovely, clean and spacious.Views fantastic and beds comfy.Dinner and breakfast was lovely and all the staff were friendly and helpful.lots of lovely places to walk.
A friendly welcome. A good room for a family - with two single beds and a double. A delicious breakfast and a spectacular view. The kids loved a quick morning dip in the pool and playing on the outside play equipment. We didn’t have time to try the tennis facilities. The reception helped me get a taxi to Salcombe (£16 with In Hope Taxi). Wish we could have stayed longer.
Beautiful location, delicious food and lovely pool
We had a lovely 3 day stay at Soar Mill Cove. The food is outstanding, really delicious. Breakfast was great, lots of attention to detail like homemade jams. We ended up having dinner there twice and a couple of cream teas as it was so good. Lounge area is great with the sea view, we enjoyed playing board games there. Pool is lovely, really clean and bigger than it looks in the pictures.
Staff were friendly and attentive. Mostly families staying over Easter which was nice for the kids. There were a few mix-ups on food and drinks orders, wrong stuff coming out or things missing, but these were always resolved quickly and didn't really matter to us.
Staff very friendly and helpful.
Food was nice woukd have preferred a bit more choice for dinner but the food we had was very well cooked and presented.
We had a sea view room which was amazing and a lovely start to the day however as the bed were two single beds sheets together it meant it wasn’t as comfortable as it could have been. The tv could do with being updated
The super staff made a big difference to our holiday
The only disappointment we had was on arrival when the room allocated had not been cleaned at all
However that was immediately resolved with many apologies and from then on everything was perfect. The views from the bedroom window were incredible and we certainly recommend this hotel
This hotel is situated in a stunning location. The food is lovely, however that's where it ends. The whole place is very tired. For the price they are charging you are left feeling you did not get value for money. Rooms are dated with inefficient patio doors. The bathrooms are terrible. If I was paying travelodge prices I'd think fair enough, but to charge nearly £200 per night and have a bathroom from the 1990's is unacceptable. There were mould stains on the ceiling. In addition we went out one day and the maid had been in, but never cleaned the toilets. Overall very disappointing.
Excellent friendly service. Food was of a very good standard. Menu changed daily. Maybe a couple of vegetarian options would have been better. Location fantastic for sea views and walks
It was the best stay ever! The staff were wonderful and they catered in every way making the stay the best! Breakfast was fantastic with a big variety and exceptionally well cooked. Freshly squeezed juices I believe. The location is stunning and can’t wait to go back. The view from the lunge and restaurant were incredible!

Overpriced for condition.
Outstanding location with stunning views and fabulous walking. Lovely staff and good food. Spacious room at the back of the hotel with gorgeous green oasis and stream outside. However our room had a horrid smell and the bathroom was desperately in need of a deep clean.

Weekend break
Nice quiet location, with a really friendly greeting on arrival. Room was big and fairly comfortable, although the bed was not the best. The room was quiet with no constant banging of doors, as normally experienced in most hotels. The hotel seemed to focus on the hiking community and was very dog friendly. Menu was limited and the food average. A complimentary cream tea was a nice touch served in a pleasent sitting area with sea views. The resteraunt area was nice, although the dogs barking did take some getting use to when you wanted a quiet meal. During our stay there were a few families with small children, who all seemed to be enjoying the enviroment and cove. If you want a short break in a fairly isolated area and love walking or have dogs, this is ideal. We had a two night stay, which was pleasant, but probably enough for us.
Very remote location for a nice break. Plenty of walks at the doorstep. Friendly staff.
Biggest selling point is that it is a dog-friendly hotel, and that everything is made to have the most pleasant experience!
