![Penang National Park is incredibly beautiful and a great place to take a hike. The reward is finding yourself on a fairly secluded beach where you can unwind and take a dip. Malaysia does a pretty good job with their national parks - keeping them mostly undeveloped and so forth. We hiked from the park entrance to Turtle beach and ended up catching a boat back rather than hiking back. By taking the boat, we were able to enjoy seeing the remote coastal areas of the park where trails do not go. Tip: wear real shoes and not flip-flops. It is a hike after all. "The hotel itself is very modern and located very centrally. However the walls are paper thin which makes for an extremely noisy stay. They also make you leave a 50RM deposit which is very annoying as i was flying to Singapore after my stay resulting in having a 50RM note in my wallet on the way to the airport. "

![Penang National Park is incredibly beautiful and a great place to take a hike. The reward is finding yourself on a fairly secluded beach where you can unwind and take a dip. Malaysia does a pretty good job with their national parks - keeping them mostly undeveloped and so forth. We hiked from the park entrance to Turtle beach and ended up catching a boat back rather than hiking back. By taking the boat, we were able to enjoy seeing the remote coastal areas of the park where trails do not go. Tip: wear real shoes and not flip-flops. It is a hike after all. "As a former resort manager now retired who travels internationally 9+ months out of the year and lives out of hotels, I know what makes a stay memorable. This was my first stay at this hotel and without a doubt I give it a 10 out of 10, two thumbs up- impressed by the facilities but wowed by your staff. Many individual employees were exceptional but as I enjoyed the breakfast buffet every morning for 6 days in a row I would personally like to thank head chef Chung who was professional to the max and personable with the guests in such a warm and welcoming manner he is a100% asset to the hotel, coffee maestro Sheldon who remembered guests names and orders daily and welcomed everyone with a genuine, enthusiastic smile and was the perfect face of the Marriot brand, and wait staff Wayhu and Asma who I myself would have employed- making guests feel welcome and very quickly like family- important and meaningful for someone like me who is always on the road. To say I was sad to leave is to say the least, to say I will return in the future?- no doubt in my mind."

"Modern and thoughtfully designed hotel with great amenities, courteous and helpful staff, and a hip vibe that belies the neighborhood. The bathroom was well stocked, the shower a pleasure, and housekeeping was unseen but we always had clean towels and water. Every request we made of the staff was handled promptly and personally, kudos for the outstanding service. The location is, unfortunately, not ideal for such a premier property. The area is not really walkable, there isn't much to do around the neighborhood, and Grab drivers spent way too much time making u-turns due to the poor road layout around the hotel. The blackout curtains were very effective but sound dampening could have been better. All-in-all, five-star hotel in a two-star neighborhood."
