Casa Luminosa plus Casita Luminosa guest house sleeps the largest # of guests in Los Altos in Arroyo Seco, NM. Custom built and beautifully furnished, the Main house sleeps 12 and the Casita sleeps 4. This upscale home in the popular f Los Altos resort community is located half way up the mountain between Town and Ski Valley being 8 miles to the town of Taos, NM and 8 miles to Taos Ski Valley for winter skiing and summer hiking and biking.

The large sunken living room with 3 walls of jumbo windows maximizes panoramic South, East and West mountain / pasture views.

An open floor plan offers light and bright and airy space for group interaction and activity between kitchen, dining and living areas. The living room game table and kitchen breakfast bar add additional dining for 6.

A special feature is the suite combining bedroom 4 & 5 with shared bathroom and shower. Bedroom #4 with bunk bed for 2 and den bedroom #5 with double futon and twin bed for 3. The suite, often used as a separate and removed getaway for the younger crowd with its' own TV or for a couple with small children needing private, removed and quiet area away from group hustle and bustle.

The studio guest house is a wonderfully light, bright and spacious cabin / cottage type studio sleeping 4 additional guests on a King and a double futon. This additional 700 square foot casita with bedroom, bathroom, kitchen and laundry facility combined with the 3,100 square foot main house provides efficient square footage for large groups of 16 maximum. The roof top view deck is a special added feature of this popular Taos guest house rental.

Included with all Los Altos homes, guests have privileges at the Los Altos Club House offering year round indoor pool and Tennis Court.

Casa Luminosa
Well stocked house - lacked large fry pan and cereal bowls but caretaker quickly provided. No hot tub towels. Property tidy and fairly clean but a thorough cleaning was needed of the kitchen cupboards and tables (we washed them down - quite sticky and dirty) also the oven and overhead fan was not clean. Thorough cleaning necessary for future. Dining room light bulbs were out and the smoke alarm had been removed from the casita, plus flickering light in the casita. Despite the above, our stay was great. The large living room was fabulous for our family reunion.

Three week stay
This was a great house that allowed our dogs, and the location was perfect. Because of our time there it was half way to the ski valley and also to Taos for easy access to museums and shopping. We needed a couple of things during our stay and the management company was very responsive. The kitchen was well equipped which was important to us. We would stay there again.

Great potential
Great property in between downtown Taos and Taos Ski Valley base. The house itself and the views of the mountains and the valley are breathtaking. However, the property needs some TLC. Pros: - Cool house for multiple families. - Separate casita was great if you want separate living quarters for part of group - Incredible views - Private hot tub - Kitchen was well stocked with utensils, dining ware and cooking ware Cons: - Needs deep cleaning. Tables and cabinets were grungy. Remote controls were dirty. - Old sheets in beds - Missing smoke alarms - Some door locks/handles did not work - Some TVs did not work - Community pool heater was broken and did not work entire stay - Multiple light bulbs out - Coffee maker needed deep cleaning - Hood above range was very dirty and needed filter change. Overall, pretty good value. The housekeeper was very responsive. When we arrived, there was no water to the house. The housekeeper addressed it quickly and got it fixed. She also quickly stocked more items that when there were not enough at check-in (I.e. - pool towels, paper towels, Kleenex, etc.). She sent a tech to fix TVs, but not all were fixed. We later discovered that one of the issues was corroded batteries in TV remote that were not addressed by technician. The biggest disappointment was that the indoor community pool was not operable. We had 10 boys in our group and that was one amenity that drew us to this property when we booked it. The property manager should have let us know that it wasn’t working before we traveled to home or offered some type of credit. If you are looking for a place for a big family to stay for Taos skiing, its pretty good. 20 minute drive to slopes and parking is free at slopes. Just needs some TLC.

Our Family Reunion Was Magical And Special Beyond Words!
The house was beautiful, spacious, we had 14 people, and there was plenty of room for more people. We had two dogs and they had a blast! WE had incredible evening meals outside, with a perfect breeze and ended it with a fun soak in the hot tub. I have no complaints. the pool was awesome, and the neighbors were all friendly and welcoming. We will definitely be back, thank you!

Great area for ski and exploring the area.
Stayed here with 3 adult couples, 2 couples in the main house and 1 couple in the on property mother in law suite. With plenty of room 3-4 additional singles or kids. The couple in the adjacent suite loved having their own place. The included Hot Tub, gas grill and wood burning fireplace were all used by our group. This location has easy access to Taos Ski Valley and downtown, both less than 20 minutes drive. Would stay here again.

The add says pool when I looked at the property. But the pool was Closed. Second point is that for spending as much money for this property I would assume that the property has Air Conditioning. Third point is my daughter who stay less than a night is allergic to Cats. And this room must of had cats in it. She had an allergic reaction and had to get a hotel in Taos. The size of the house very accommodating for our size of family. I believe that you need to be honest about the features to the house. Such as no Air or ceiling Fans. Has 2 fans only for this house. House needs some updating to be done. But overall since it did accommodate our large family. Thanks for the memories.

Great vacation
We were 3 families skiing Taos. The house was great and the skiing amazing. The manager was wonderful and responded promptly to my calls. We never did get the grill working, but we managed. The one thing I would recommend is new blankets. It was quite cold in the bedrooms and the kids did bot like the itchy wool ones at all :).

Disrepair Nightmare and Very Little Water
Went toTaos for a destination wedding. Several family members wanted to rent a 6 BR home so we could spend more time together. When we arrived there was food in the refrigerator, the lazy susan door in the kitchen was falling off its hinges (someone tried to fix, but with wrong hardware and screw size), tiles on the floor were broken (could cut your feet), damage to wall in kitchen, faucet in a bath room was loose and worked poorly, stains on the comforter in the MB (looked like it was oil based), futon in the back den was broken (looked like someone tried to fix it several times, and failed miserably) but it made the TV room in the back for the kids useless, the yard was full of weeds and prairie hogs (stay coincides with the Colorado story with the plague in their prairie dogs, nice timing), and several of the screens and screen sliding doors either had holes or did not slide properly (so much for airflow on hot summer days). AND THAT IS NOT THE LEAST OF IT. This house has a MAJOR problem with its water system supply. We were only 9 people, and the house runs out of "all" water when two or three take a shower, not talking about hot water. These were not long showers, something like 5 min or less. The day of the wedding it was an absolute nightmare at Casa Luminosa. This house has had no TLC in years. RENTER BEWARE OF THIS DISREPAIR NIGHTMARE. Absolutely disappointed we paid this much money and got such a poor rental. VRBO, Premier Properties in Taos and the home owner should be ashamed of themselves for allowing this home to rented in this condition. We took many pictures and videos of the house upon arrival and departure for fear they would try to pin some of this damage on us. We had called the property manager when we arrived and it was clear they knew of all these issues. I sent an email about all these issues to Premier the first day, no response. I regret staying here and putting my family through turmoil, we should have moved to a hotel with four rooms and it would been cheaper and more comfortable.

Always room for improvement
Great place. Just care taker needs to take better care of outside. Holes in back yard we had kids, they could've fallen into one of them , also there was debris around hot tub, and weeds outside master bedroom patio. The worse thing was not having water pressure through out the house!!! Oh almost forgot outside little casita there was a red light and we found out the light was to the septic tank, and it was red because it was full.
