"Fantastic place to escape from the rat race, relax and reconnect with the things in life that really matter. The hosts where as good as it gets; we were even taken for a night excursion to see glow worms, kuras, cave wetas, native fish and slugs!!! The nearby wetlands park contains ample of info about the areas past and is well worth a visit."

"Looks great online but the reality was quite a disappointment. The cabin was not as well appointed as I had thought given the cost, all a bit cheap and plasticky. The floor was sort of buckled and uneven in places and as such the door was a challenge to close. The container got quite hot as the weather was so good, but there was no air conditioning and no fly screens, so opening the windows meant I had to contend with some big bugs late at night (moths and cicadas). "This is an exceptionally special spot. The house was clean, contemporary, warm and comfortable with everything we needed… and the views were amazing! The walks around the property were a surprise and extra magical - it’s well worth the steep climb to the lookout! Exploring Farewell Spit and Wharariki area was a breeze from here. "This lovely home was just perfect. Cosy and inviting right by the beach and grateful we could enjoy this with our dog. The views from the master just so relaxing and blissful to listen to the waves at night, and watch the sun rise. Birdlife galore, sweet garden and everything you could need, or a cafe just a five min bike ride away. Not flashy, but luxury in all the good ways! Thank you!"

"We've just returned from a fantastic 3 night stay at Parapara Heights. The accommodation is absolutely faultless with all the mod cons, good size for the family, clean, dog-friendly and it has stunning views. Mark and Tracey are the perfect hosts (not forgetting Ziggy and Sam the dogs of course!) Always happy to help, but leaving you well alone to relax.
