The best area to stay in Yosemite Lakes is within the community itself, particularly around the central lake and golf course, as this offers the most direct access to amenities and a pleasant environment.

Yosemite Lakes is a well-planned community with a central lake as its focal point, surrounded by residential areas and recreational facilities. The main roads, like Yosemite Springs Parkway, connect the various parts of the community. It's primarily a residential area, offering a more relaxed and spread-out feel compared to a dense town.

Families often find staying here ideal due to the range of activities available on-site. The community features a golf course, tennis courts, and a swimming pool, providing plenty of options for recreation without having to leave the area. The lake itself offers opportunities for non-motorised boating, and there are walking trails throughout the community.

For those looking for a quiet retreat with convenient access to outdoor activities, the areas closer to the golf course or the more secluded residential streets are perfect. These spots offer a peaceful setting, often with views of the surrounding natural landscape, while still being a short drive from the community's facilities.

The best time to visit Yosemite Lakes is typically from late spring to early autumn, specifically May through October, when the weather is warm and most park facilities and roads are open.

For those looking to enjoy all the park has to offer, including hiking, fishing, and watersports, the summer months of June, July, and August are ideal. During this period, the days are long and sunny, with average temperatures in the high 20s Celsius. This is also when the high country, including Tuolumne Meadows and Tioga Pass, is fully accessible, offering stunning alpine landscapes.

If you prefer fewer crowds and slightly cooler temperatures, late spring (May) and early autumn (September and October) are excellent choices. In May, you'll see waterfalls at their peak flow due to snowmelt, and the wildflowers begin to bloom. September and October offer crisp air, beautiful autumn colours, and comfortable hiking conditions, with fewer visitors than in the peak summer months.
