"Beautifully and thoughtfully finished property blending old and new. Stunning room (Stone) with a very comfortable bed all the amenities you would need and a luxurious bathroom. Breakfast was also top tier with local produce featuring in the menu. The hot tub was also a lovely touch after a day of walking. Highly recommend this place for a luxurious break to explore the Western lakes."

"This was our second time staying at the retreat. We absolutely it here!It's a perfect location and the Retreat do a great job of making sure you have what you need.My only negative was the level of cleanliness. It was a noticeable decline in most areas compared to our first stay. Bed bugs were a big problem and both myself and partner woke up to several bites. It was clean on a surface level but could do with a deep clean. I imagine it's very busy as it really is a lovely place to stay. I have always highly recommend it since our first visit.It was such a shame as I couldn't relax completely."

"Absolutely gorgeous property with so much room and everything you need. The surrounding area is beautiful. We had lovely walks, enjoying the countryside and great views. We climbed Scafell Pike via Wasdale route which isn't too far from the property. The booking process and throughout until arrival was very smooth. Great communication from the host. We would not hesitate to recommend this property to friends."

"We stopped for 2 nights so we could walk up Scafell Pike. Only 20 mins down the road. Ideal location. Beautiful views to wake up to and to sit outside and soak up. It had everything we needed for our stay. "
