Sehr ordentliches ruhiges Hotel

Posted 15-Oct-2016

Good location

Posted 23-Sep-2016
The hotel is a 2min walk away from the train station. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. There is no elevator in the hotel, so be aware that you must carry all your luggage up and down the stairs. The décor was outdated but it gave it personality and I appreciated it. The room was dark, and very red. All the room's décor was red, it was a little too much. The shower was so small that I had to shower with the shower door open just to be able to wash my hair. The shower was dirty, you could see dirt and mold in the shower corners. The room had a weird smell as well. There was an air freshner plugged in but it was empty and looked like it had been empty for quite some time. The bed was very hard and uncomfortable, the pillows were just as bad. If you can get over the room, the hotel has a decent breakfast buffet every morning and is in a great location. There is a restaurant right before you turn the corner towards the hotel that I highly recommend. We had some of our best meals throughout the entire trip there.

Good location

Posted 22-Sep-2016
Cons: The room was not very clean. I lost a sock and looked under the bed and it was very dusty and dirty.
The location is very good and the staff are excellent. The bed was very uncomfortable due to being very hard. It was very warm during our stay and the air conditioner didn't work very well.

Nice hotel near Train Station

Posted 19-Sep-2016
Pros: close to train station, many restaurants and shops nearby, great courtyard
Location: hotel has good location for easy access to other parts of Venice, either by foot or Vaporetto
We stayed at the Abbazia Hotel for 2 nights. This was our second time in Venice and since we were arriving by train, we wanted something near the station. It is a convenient location making it easy to get around on foot or take the Vaporetto. Lots of restaurants and shopping nearby. The hotel is not on the main street but into one of the side streets, making it very quiet and less congested foot traffic. There are a few restaurants also located on this side street as well as a few other hotels. I was pleasantly surprised by the large courtyard inside the walls of the hotel! Very green and welcoming! Nice place for a drink or to sit and relax or visit with friends. The staff was courteous. The hotel is an original old building as are many hotels in Venice but this one is not as dowdy as others, and is a nice mix of old and modern! Nice touch! Our room had a great wooden beamed ceiling and a fabulous red Murano glass chandelier! Fabric walls as often seen in Venice area. Modern, spacious tiled bathroom, good towels, built in closet and safe. Buffet breakfast was good. We would stay at this hotel again!
