You will see a mix of reviews on this property and they’re generally at opposite ends of the spectrum. I loved, loved, loved my stay here. The first impression was a bit odd, largely because the architecture is fairly cold from the outside and the reception area, while beautiful, cannot be characterized as inviting. But give it a minute, because this property is spectacular and

9.2/10 Wonderful! (33 reviews)
My family of 7 had an excellent stay at the Pools Villas on Yagaji Island in Okinawa. Automated check-in was simple, as was checkout. The private pool was clean and the highlight of the trip for my younger kids. Sleeping in the tatami room on futons was a good experience for my older kids. The air conditioning worked well and kept us comfortable in the humid heat. Bathrooms were large and luxurious and the washer/dryer worked well.
It was clean and well kept. But be aware this is a tropical place, so there are large spiders and lizards etc. My children enjoyed having a couple of house geckos in the unit to keep them company. And in the pool deck area, I was a bit surprised by what I thought was a very large spider walking around in the evening, but on closer inspection it was just a local Okinawan coconut/hermit crab that had made its home in the yard beside the pool. It's all part of the local experience!
If you want to watch your streaming services from home, better to bring your laptop and connect with HDMI to the TV or streaming stick. That's how we watched the FIFA World Cup games. Internet is OK but sometimes slow.
We patronized the two restaurants around the corner for breakfast and dinner on a few occasions. Great beaches are nearby - Kouri island is close by. We enjoyed the quietness of Yagaji island. For the first time in my life I could actually see the milky way stretching above in the sky. There is little light pollution so enjoy the stargazing.
