« The sunset sanctuary was the perfect location to stay at. It was perfect because the lake was shallow enough for the kids to stand and deep enough for adults to swim. There was also a beach side that our kids loved to play on. It was also very close to my favorite ice cream location, Tim’s. The location on the lake was prime.The house itself was impeccable. Clean, functional, and beautiful! The house had many large living spaces for the family to gather, while also providing smaller locations...

« Stay went well. Wished there was a washer/dryer but it didn’t promise that so that’s on me. Location was very very close to Smith Football stadium so would be convenient for games. »

« My family of 2 adults and 3 girls ages 20, 24, 23 enjoyed our stay! 1 night we hosted 2 more 20 year olds. The sleeping situation is good for a max of 2 couples plus 2 or 3 young adults (if you bring children you could utilize the trundles and add beds). « We had three families sharing the house for a long weekend on the lake. It was a great size for our group of 11, with plenty of space for everyone. Mark (the owner) was especially responsive, providing clear check-in instructions and staying in touch throughout for any questions/issues.The house has great lake access on a quieter area of the lake with ample space for boat tie ups at the dock. We very much enjoyed our stay! »

« We were lucky to find this gem. The perfect location for all things Charlottesville. Owner was top notch to work with all booking and during stay inquiries were quickly and accurately answered. Plenty of space for a couple of two for a long stay. Every appliance needed was there and working well. An abundance of china, glasses, cooking ware and paper products were stocked. Friendly neighbors. Everything well kept in this cottage. Look forward to another stay here in the future. »

The location was remote enough for our liking, but was also close enough to larger cities to make it easy to get to.We stayed in the shire suite and because I am a big Lord of the Rings fan it made for great ambiance, especially the big round door.We would love to stay here again in the future. »
