« I would give a 5 if it wasn’t for the carpet in the room
Don’t understand why still in 2025 they do room with carpet, as it is so disgusting since they cannot be washed between clients. What kind of thing is accumulated down there !
But for the rest, the rooms and everything is very well kept and clean
The breakfast are decent
Easy parking, and good choices of restaurants near by

« Second time there, for a week each time. Excellent hotel: perfect location between the downtown mall and the Main Street of CV. Free car park, good breakfast. Super clean rooms in excellent condition. Low noise from the street. »

« The staff were pleasant and attentive. Kudos to the Valet attendants as they were always on time and on point during the entire stay. Will definitely be returning! »
« We picked the Doyle for its location; this was a one night stop on a longer vaca, and it was perfect. Toured Monticello then checked in here and walked to Belmont and the downtown mall for dinner and ice cream. Another short walk in the AM for brunch and a stroll thru UVa campus before we left. Standard room was fine - minimalist, but clean and everything you need. Lobby, bar and rooftop restaurant are all beautiful! »
« Beautifully renovated historic home that welcomes you from the moment you drive in. The property is vast and the immediate grounds are very well maintained with many activities to interest all-pool, hiking trails, and croquet. The public spaces androoms are well put together while maintaining their historic integrity. Grab a crab cocktail at the in-house bar and have dinner in any of the well appointed dining spaces. A great place to stay before/after a visit to Monticello. »
