"Great location for golf and boating"
The condo was even nicer than I anticipated. It was spacious and modern plus we had a wonderful view of the golf course and Torch Lake. I would definitely stay here again!

"Been here many times"
Still a fine place to stay. We go for winter escapes . Great staff, dining. Rooms in the towers have great views. Don't miss sunsets at the Aerie lounge. Enjoy a snowshower from an outdoor hot tub.

"Great Get-a-way!"
This is a very charming get-a-way, with wonderful views of Northern Michigan at it's best. The accommodations are comfortable, if not super new, and the food is very good. The staff was very helpful and friendly. I would definately stay here again, for a romantic weekend, or a family stay.

"Great Hotel with Lovely Surroundings"
I was looking for a nice hotel within a reasonable distance of Traverse City and Shanty Creek was a good fit. It was more of a condo than a hotel room (though the rooms do not have a cooktop, just a microwave) which was what I was specifically looking for. A cooktop would have been a plus, but I made do with the microwave. I did have to go get plates and utensils from their restaurant (normally a condo has these things in the room) but they were accommodating and meals worked out fine. The room was very nice and a reasonable value (considering that it was a busy, sold out weekend in Traverse City and rooms that were available there were twice as expensive). I am not sure that I would pay as much per night the next time, but it was very nice considering the very full bookings closer to TC. I don't play golf, but it looks like it would be a fantastic place for a golf vacation. The people at the front desk were absolutely fantastic. I would easily rate this as a 4.5 or above place to stay.

" Very cozy hotel just went out of season for golf "
Shanty Creek was definitely an eye-opener for nature lovers. Sits on a Arnold Palmer design golf course one of the prettiest ones in the country. They had just closed down the golfing so there wasn't a lot for me today but I wasn't there for me I was there from my fiancé and my seven-month-old son we wanted somewhere to relax and have a serene setting for October rolling into Halloween weekend. Only 30 miles from Traverse City we had a nice quaint drive down to torch Lake and then made our way into the town of Traverse City. All of the food in the area was amazing and the cherry pie will be the best you have ever eaten in your life at the store call Cherry Republic

"Expected a Little More at the Hamlet"
Resort was half closed Sunday night and midweek while we were staying their. When you're staying on slope you want to literally stay on slope to eat and drink, play, shop, etc. the Ski bar closed early Sunday and never reopened before we left as well as several restaurants were closed midweek. So they're getting people to the resort but making us spend half our money at other restaurants and drinking establishments. That means we had to drive away from the resort for variety of food prices and choices. Our room at the Hamlet had issues, which surprised us, a leaking sink, a deck door lock that was hard to open, a valance that fell off the window and noisey refrigerator and heating that we turned off to sleep. We did report the first problems and they were quick to get resolved. Which we wouldn't have expected less, and the staff were very nice and got the problems fixed. We love the on hill ski locker, skiing conditions were great, variety of vertical was enjoyed. The outside beauty of resort-neat!
