Toronto featuring night scenes, a city and a skyscraper

Toronto Travel Guide Video

Browse vintage boutiques, explore the bustling waterfront and cozy up to an eclectic art scene in Ontario’s diverse capital.

There’s so much to love about Toronto vacation packages. Think of this Ontario metropolis as Canada’s answer to New York and Los Angeles the museums are exquisite, the shopping is divine, and the neighborhoods run the gamut from multicultural family spots to trendsetting design districts. While a travel guide can try to do the city justice, this is one destination that defies description. Grab a few Toronto getaway deals, and experience it for yourself. Before you hit the road for your holiday in Toronto, however, spend a little time getting acquainted with the local layout. This is, after all, a deceptively large city. Over 2.5 million people live in the central districts alone, and the metro area extends nearly 20 miles (32 kilometers) from the lake to the northernmost border. For the easiest plan of action, start your vacations in the downtown area. The waterfront is packed with lovely cafes, relaxing gardens, and enough shops to fill a steamer trunk with souvenirs. Head to the CN Tower to snap a few pictures of the sky-piercing spire, and then stop by the Entertainment District for a little dinner and dancing. From here, make your way to Yonge Street, the city’s main artery. This road is the world’s longest, and it’ll get you close to nearly every spot worth seeing on your holidays. Explore the historic St. Lawrence and North Markets, check out the marvelous Union Station, or find your favorite exhibits at the Hockey Hall of Fame. The intersection of Yonge and Bloor is paradise for shoppers, and a trip through the adjacent boutiques might just give you access to some cheap Toronto deals and discounts. The city’s bohemian side flourishes in Kensington Market. Visit this downtown spot to browse hard-to-find vintage wares, uncover local art galleries and rub shoulders with the city’s cool crowd. On summer Sundays, the area becomes entirely pedestrian, and you can easily spend hours munching on empanadas while you shop for rare books. Plus, Kensington is home to several Toronto travel deals for tourists who like staying slightly off the beaten path. It’s the best way to experience the city from the perspective of a local.

"I've stayed at this hotel at least once a year since around 2000. I love it and it's my first choice in downtown Toronto. It's right downtown, so definitely not a quiet area, but if you're OK with that, it's a great place. I'm looking forward to going back again."

Was in Toronto for an operation at TGH. Fantiastic facility and friendly people. Eery to see so little number of people around the city though (during COVID).

I like Toronto. They have a nice blend of ethnic cuisines which could be ordered. I can get West African or Caribbean or Thai depending on my fancy at the time.
