This historic Inn was decorated beautifully for the season & our room, Mary Queen of Scott's room#12, was tastefully decorared with an antique canopy bed & period pieces. Our room looked over the courtyard and lake. From the signature drink selection to the appetizer and dinner, portions were beyond expectations with reasonable prices. Waking to peaceful falling snow while drinking our morning coffee was a added bonus. If you want the charm of yesteryears with the conveniences of today found in a quaint village getting, the Brae Loch Inn is your place!
It was unique - you're not staying at a chain. The bed was very comfortable, the wi-fi was fast and dependable and dining options were varied and excellent. and being located right across the street from the lake and ark was great!
Wonderful old school inn.. very comfortable feeling. Room was very clean with an updated bathroom.. had cocktails in the pub.. what a great place to unwind.. had dinner in the dining room.. excellent prime rib, best I’ve had in a long time. We will definitely be back.
Our stay was wonderful. We were traveling with a puppy and they were very welcoming of that. Live music every night and the food at the restaurant was great. The bed was also really comfortable (memory foam mattress). I would definitely stay again!
Adorable Scottish Inn. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Breakfast had a variety of options. Highly recommend a stay. The town of Cazenovia is adorable! Wish we had more time to explore.
This Inn is charming and beautiful! The decorated inn is filled with Scottish history. The history of the building is beautifully detailed. The restaurant is outstanding. I had the best steak I've ever had. Completely worth visiting.
This is a charming hotel. All if the details and decor give this Scottish inn an old world vibe. It’s clear that the employees love their jobs. If you cone here, make sure to stay for dinner. It’s a 5-star experience.
Staying here felt like being on an episode of Outlander - right out of Scottish highlands. Charming bed and breakfast vibe but with full working restaurant and bar. Close to colleges in the area (Colgate, Hamilton, Cazenovia, hour away from Syracuse). Dinner at the restaurant was good. Enjoyed outside patio and took a walk to Cazenovia Lake after dinner.
You don’t find such a welcoming atmosphere at many establishments. Everyone was delightful and attentive. It was a mini Scottish getaway. We had their delicious breakfast and a fine dinner of Guinness pie and filet mignon.
Room was nice and bed was very comfortable. However the room was too hot and had a strange musty like odor. We tried to adjust the heat/air conditioning with little success. Lighting was also a bit dim for reading.

Rooms are very outdated, stains on the ceilings, rust on the sprinkler systems that were in the room. If you clean a room put toilet paper in there. No backsplash were there was one in the bathroom. Bed was terrible. Restaurant was good.
For our 3-day stay the room was comfortable, but a but dated. An in-room air conditioner cooled the room suitably. We had made (and confirmed when we checked in) diner reservations at the in-house restaurant during our stay, but when we appeared at our appointed time, they did not have our reservation and did not seem concerned about their error. It then took them 25 minutes to find us a table in the otherwise vacant adjoining dining room. Otherwise, the dinner we had was excellent and the waitress was wonderful and engaging. Despite these hiccups, I would stay there again as it was convenient for our travel plans. The continental breakfast was a nice addition, but it was the vey same each day.
The Brae Loch Inn is a charming, rather eccentric, Inn with a great restaurant and a bar with a terrific selection of single malt whiskeys. The Inn was built in 1910 and is rather labyrinthine. There is no elevator, so people with mobility problems should be aware of that.
The staff was friendly and helpful, the continental breakfast very good and the restaurant excellent. We were there on the weekend and the live music was excellent as well.
Highly recommend the Brae Loch!
Beautiful Scottish Inn with wonderful decorations. The hotel had beautiful rooms which were decorated with lovely antiques. The restaurant was delicious! The downstairs the bar was a hidden gem. We enjoyed staying here very much and we'll stay here again in the future . We took a walk across the street to a beautiful lake and walked around the park
Brae Loch is a gorgeous little inn located in the beautiful village of Cazenovia. From the single-malt Scotch offered at check-in to the fireplace in the cozy lobby, the comfy 4-poster bed, the Jacuzzi, and the delicious continental breakfast, everything about this place signals attention to detail and guest's comfort. Highly, highly recommend a visit!

The Inn was very attractive and had tons of ambiance - a Scottish country inn motif. Gorgeous common areas with a welcoming fireplace and comfy furnishings. The offer of a Scotch or sherry on arrival was a nice touch. Our only complaint was the service in the dining room at dinner. We spent 20 minutes after ordering our appetizers waiting for them to arrive and then there was another half hour wait for our main courses. We spent an hour and forty-five minutes in the dining room to eat two courses. The waitress seemed rushed off her feet. She was alone and serving at least ten or fifteen tables. When we asked for an explanation, she informed us that only one chef showed up for work that evening. I told her how disappointed we were and asked if there was anything that could be done to compensate us for our bad experience. She kindly comped the two glasses of wine that we ordered when we were first greeted. I assured the waitress that we were in no way dissatisfied with her performance and that our complaint was directed at management. The food was very good and the only fault we had with the Inn was the poor service at dinner. Also, although the room we had was huge and beautifully decorated and even had a working fireplace, the bathroom was a bit shabby and dated. Still, an overall good experience and would recommend if the restaurant issue was fixed.

Nice place (mid way pricey) but, clean room. Staff/ owners - whole vibe (feel) of the place was very stuck up… including other guests. In other words; the people around us seemed very stiff/ snooty, looked down upon us and others around. Not super welcoming.
The Inn itself was cozy, warm and beautiful. Very Scottish. Across the street from a lake. Two blocks from town. Nice walk. Delicious food in the restaurant. Cozy rooms throughout. Cannot wait to return.
The owners of the Inn are very nice and the environment is interesting. I love all of the history and the love for everything Scottish.

Beautiful old Inn. We had a nice time. Because of COVID the restaurant wasn't open for dinner so we had to go else where. The bathroom in our room needed a complete overhaul.
