"Great location. However, on checkin, the room we were given had issues with the room door lock, the door to the balcony could not be locked or closed completely. It was windy so the air was whistling around the balcony door. They willingly gave us an upgrade which was appreciated."

"It’s a lovely place! Very well furnished and decorated, located in a quiet neighborhood (at least for off season), close to coffee and bakery shops that we really enjoyed. Only thing is that you need to bring your own towel and sheets, guess that saves cleaning fee for you? Or you can rent with additional charges. Since we drove from home, it was no big deal for us. We had a pleasant 3 nights there."

"I highly recommend a stay at this property! My college daughter and I went for a few days during her Spring Break. She loves victorian style homes and this one was perfect. We loved that they had bikes available to ride during the day. Breakfast each day was delicious, and the Tea and Treats and Wine and Cheese times were so fun."

"I was thoroughly happy with the Chalfonte Hotel (though I actually stayed in the "Southern Quarters," which is next door as a sort of add-on to the original). The accommodations were built in 1876, so of course the rooms are smaller than people are used to now, the hotel doesn't have elevators, and travelers can hear things go bump in the night. The room still had old marble-topped desks! Check-in was easy. The "breakfast room" was pleasant. I was happily surprised to discover that parking (at least in March) was easily available in front of the building. The location in general was great--close to the Cape May downtown, within walking distance, really. Absolutely charming building, built in the Queen Anne style that is usual for Cape May. The building was old--that's part of the appeal--but the interiors didn't seem shabby, and everything was clean. Highly recommended."
