The best area to stay in Seberang Jaya, Penang, is generally around the Sunway Carnival Mall area and the surrounding hotel district.

This central area offers a good selection of modern hotels, many of which are directly connected to or within easy walking distance of the Sunway Carnival Mall. The mall itself is a significant landmark, providing numerous dining options, shops, and entertainment facilities. This makes it incredibly convenient for travellers who appreciate having amenities close by without needing to travel far. The main roads here, such as Jalan Todak, are well-maintained and provide good access to other parts of Seberang Jaya.

For families, this area is particularly suitable due to the convenience of the mall for meals and shopping, as well as easy access to family-friendly attractions like the Penang Bird Park, which is just a short drive away. The hotels in this vicinity often feature amenities like swimming pools and family rooms, suiting the needs of those travelling with children.

Business travellers will also find this location ideal. Many of the hotels are equipped with business facilities, and the area's good road network allows for straightforward access to industrial zones and corporate offices within Seberang Perai.

The best time to visit Seberang Perai is during the dry season, which runs from December to February and again from June to August.

During these months, you'll experience pleasant, sunny weather with lower humidity and less rainfall, making it ideal for exploring the region's attractions. This period is great for outdoor activities, such as visiting the Butterworth Art Walk or taking a leisurely stroll along the waterfront.

If you're planning to explore further afield, perhaps venturing into mainland Penang's rural areas or enjoying the street art, the dry season ensures comfortable conditions for walking and sightseeing. It's also a good time for couples looking for a relaxed trip without the disruption of heavy downpours.

While the wet season (March to May and September to November) offers lush greenery and fewer crowds, you can expect frequent, short bursts of rain.
